We are looking for an Environmental Consultant for contract follow-up regarding National Vegetation Management for the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket).
This is a consulting assignment with a flexible location. You can choose to be based in Gävle, Jönköping, Umeå, Solna, Malmö, or Gothenburg.
The position is part-time, approximately 15–30% of full-time hours.
The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, requiring high flexibility and strong teamwork skills.
The Assignment
The role involves independently working with contract follow-up within the National Vegetation Management project on railways. The consultant is responsible for monitoring contractors' weed and invasive species control in the field, ensuring that work is carried out according to contracts, laws, and internal guidelines. The assignment is conducted in close dialogue with the project organization and includes travel within the current region as well as to the project management office in Gävle.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and present seasonal delivery follow-ups.
- Perform and compile delivery follow-ups before, during, and after pest control.
- Evaluate the work performed by contractors.
- Provide internal and external support with infrastructure knowledge.
- Prepare materials for production and construction meetings based on observations.
- Participate in weekly coordination meetings and report completed work to the project group.
- Participate in production and construction meetings as needed.
- Ensure that contracts are executed according to the agreement, as well as applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and work instructions.
- Initiate, prepare, and follow up on projects or sub-projects regarding time, cost, quality, safety, working environment, and environment.
- Ensure that authority requirements and client requirements are met.
- Follow up on customer cases regarding weeds and invasive species.
- Provide technical advice.
Requirements (Mandatory)
- Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Valid Class B driver's license.
- At least 3 years of work experience (as a designer, specialist, project engineer, or case handler) within the Environmental sector. The experience must not be older than 10 years.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, standards, and directives within the relevant area.
- Required work experience from at least one assignment comparable to the current assignment, e.g., BPU assignments.
- Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.
