Do you want to use your analytical skills to influence decisions in one of Sweden's most complex and socially critical operations?
What we offer
- A challenging and developmental role with good benefits and engaged colleagues, where you contribute to the development of future healthcare.
- The opportunity to work in an operation with billion-krona turnover, large data volumes, and high demands for quality, development, and adaptability.
- Excellent opportunities for development and gradually increased responsibility within financial control, business support, and analysis.
Naturally, you will also enjoy our general benefits offered by Karolinska University Hospital.
About the role
The Finance and Procurement Support team is responsible for financial control as well as the development and improvement of the hospital's financial processes, such as financial planning, follow-up, self-cost calculations, and cost per patient.
As a Controller, you work close to the operations with a focus on analysis, financial control, follow-up, and decision support. You are responsible for coordinating the follow-up of production, revenues, and costs within your areas of operation and ensuring that the business receives qualified and proactive financial support.
You will become part of a team working together to improve, simplify, and develop the hospital's financial control. The role involves close collaboration with managers and key personnel within the operations as well as with other units within the hospital.
Our vision is to be a professional support that enables Karolinska to achieve its vision – to cure and alleviate tomorrow what no one can cure and alleviate today. Our work is based on the hospital's overarching strategies and values: Responsibility, Holistic View, and Humanity.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, among other things:
- Support, challenge, and serve as a qualified sounding board for managers in the clinical operations through data-driven analysis.
- Responsible for analyses of the business's finances, production, and key figures, as well as identifying drivers behind results, trends, and deviations.
- Prepare decision-making materials and identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Pedagogically present financial analyses, recommendations, and conclusions to various target groups.
- Contribute to the development of steering models, analysis methods, and decision-making materials in a complex and data-rich operation.
- Contribute to developing, streamlining, and quality-assuring the hospital's financial processes, working methods, and analytical capabilities.
Karolinska operates in both Huddinge and Solna. Since the role is close to the operations, you are expected to be available at one of these locations.
We are looking for you who
- Are analytical, self-reliant, and responsible with a strong drive to develop and improve operations. You have the ability to turn large amounts of information into relevant insights and clear decision-making materials.
- Enjoy analyzing complex issues and turning data into concrete recommendations that create value for the business.
- Are curious, solution-oriented, and motivated by understanding connections and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Thrive in a business-close role where you combine analysis with collaboration and dialogue. The role involves many contact points, so it is important that you easily build trusting relationships and communicate financial connections in a clear and pedagogical manner.
- Are structured, meticulous, and quality-conscious. You have a good understanding of details while being able to prioritize the right questions and see connections from a broader perspective.
The role places high demands on analytical ability and a data-driven approach. To succeed in the role, you need to quickly familiarize yourself with new operations, systems, and analysis tools.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- University or college education in economics, industrial economics, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
- A few years of experience in qualified analysis, controlling, auditing, or consulting work where you have worked with financial analysis, follow-up, and business support.
- Experience with data-driven analysis and working with BI and analysis tools.
- Very good skills in Excel.
- Good understanding of accounting and financial connections.
- Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Merits:
- Experience from an audit firm or consulting business within economics, business management, data analysis, or change management.
- Experience driving development and change work.
- Experience leading projects, working groups, or teams.
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other BI tools.
- Previous experience working in healthcare, Region Stockholm, or another region.
