Within the Orthopedics Business Area at Skåne University Hospital (Sus), approximately 500 employees work, making us one of Sweden's largest orthopedic operations. Here, both highly specialized care and broad orthopedic activities are conducted with units in Malmö and Lund. The Spine Section is located in Malmö, where both acute and highly specialized spine surgery is performed, including scoliosis surgery. In Trelleborg, we conduct elective surgical operations within cervical spine surgery.

Outpatient care includes clinics, medical secretaries, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy. Inpatient care consists of three wards and an admission unit where we work in interprofessional teams with the patient in focus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a specialist physician with us, you will be part of the operation's spine section where you will perform a broad range of clinical work with the patient in focus. You will work together with experienced colleagues in a knowledge-intensive environment and contribute to developing care within the spine area.

The position also involves supporting and promoting clinical research within the operation. Therefore, we view interest in research and development work positively. Participation in on-call duties is included.

Since the Orthopedics Business Area operates in several units, travel may occur in the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply are a licensed physician with permission to work within Swedish healthcare and have specialist competence in surgery. Language skills in Swedish equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are a requirement. You have completed or plan to complete a course in clinical supervision and have on-call competence.

It is meritorious if you have several years of experience and documented clinical skill in your main specialty in addition to obtained specialist competence. We also view positively if you have a defined medical responsibility or knowledge area and documented experience in teaching and/or supervision. Experience of working at Skåne University Hospital is also meritorious.

To thrive and succeed in the role, you have good clinical judgment and good communication skills. You can convey knowledge clearly and pedagogically to both colleagues and trainee doctors and students. As a person, you are flexible, engaged, and have an easy time collaborating. You contribute to a good work climate and see the value of interprofessional collaboration with the patient in focus. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.

At a university healthcare unit, physicians are required to have pedagogical experience and education. This you may have acquired through supervising, for example, nursing and medical students as well as doctors in training, and as co- or main supervisor of doctoral students. Clearly describe in your application completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience of supervision and teaching at different levels.
