Make a difference. Every day.

Do you want to work in an organization where development, variety, and job satisfaction are at the center? Are you stimulated by close collaboration with other professions and do you have a genuine interest in putting the patient at the center? Then you could be our future colleague!

We are facing an exciting development where we are taking over an existing geriatric unit and simultaneously expanding our mission at SUS Home Hospital (Sjukhus Hemma). We welcome two new colleagues to our team: a permanent position and a parental leave replacement of at least one year.

Our area of operations (VO) for Emergency Care and Internal Medicine in Malmö has its own Rehabilitation Unit together with Lund. This includes occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and social workers. In total, we are 50 people. In Malmö, there are twelve occupational therapists, twelve physiotherapists, and four social workers.

We staff three internal medicine wards, the geriatric ward, the emergency department, the Acute Care Unit (AVA), the Clinical Teaching Unit (KUA), and SUS Home Hospital (SSH), which offers emergency care at home.

We are a large and broad operation under constant development where you, as an occupational therapist, have an established role and sought-after competence in the interprofessional team. Together, we strive to provide the patient with the best possible care.

For us, competence development is an important part of the work, and we believe that continuous learning creates the prerequisites for long-term and rewarding work.

We have team leaders for each profession who act as knowledge support in clinical work and create opportunities for individual development.

WORK RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of occupational therapist, you contribute your professional competence in assessment and continued rehabilitative interventions and measures. We actively work for person-centered care and collaborate with the municipality and primary care to ensure safe returns home for our patients.

Your work is characterized by personal responsibility, participation, and teamwork. You work in close collaboration with physiotherapists, and together you have important functions in the interprofessional team care of the patient.

Throughout our entire area of operations, you will meet multi-morbid patients with a wide variety of disease conditions and diagnoses, including heart and lung diseases, musculoskeletal disorders, infections, and cognitive impairments. On our geriatric ward, half of the care beds are for orthogeriatric patients. At the emergency department and associated acute care units, your occupational therapy assessment is important as decision support for the physician regarding whether the patient should be discharged home or admitted. In SSH, the patient is treated at home instead of being an inpatient at the hospital. The patient is registered in inpatient care during the treatment period. For you as an occupational therapist, this means occupational therapy interventions both in the hospital environment and in the patient's home.

We are highly committed to supervising students, primarily at our Clinical Teaching Unit (KUA) but also on our other wards. We welcome you if you share our interest in providing good supervision to future colleagues.

We strive for a work culture where every employee is active in their own learning and has a desire to contribute to moving the operation forward. We work to constantly improve and value initiative and innovation. Here we offer good opportunities for competence development, through both internal and external training, and you have the opportunity to develop within different areas of the operation. As a new employee, you will receive an individually adapted introduction to our operations and mentorship from an experienced colleague based on your needs.

Working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday 07:30–16:00, and every seventh Saturday 07:30–14:20, with a day off the following week.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed occupational therapist with eligibility to work in Swedish healthcare and have Swedish language skills at least at level C1. If you have completed supervisor training, this is meritorious, as is experience working in a hospital with elderly, multi-morbid patients.

Your personal qualities are of great importance for the position, and we are looking for you who have a good ability to collaborate, communicate, and promote a good working environment. To succeed in the role, you have good empathetic skills and can work both independently and in a team, as well as have an interest in supervising students.

You have a rehabilitative mindset and can plan and prioritize while having the ability to quickly adapt to the operation's needs for the day. It is important to be able to collaborate with different professional groups and have a holistic view with the patient at the center. You are responsible and have a drive to develop both yourself and the operation. We are keen on finding the right person and place great emphasis on personal suitability.

In this recruitment, we work with continuous selection. Warmly welcome with your application!
