to apply for the job

Lund University was founded in 1666 and is consistently ranked among the world's leading universities. We have approximately 46,000 students and 8,500 employees in Lund, Helsingborg, and Malmö. We are united in our strive to understand, explain, and improve our world and people's conditions.

Description of the workplace

The research group's studies aim to increase knowledge about how the interaction between our genes, lifestyle, and body shape affects breast cancer risk, as well as how the interaction between these factors and the tumor and tumor markers is linked to prognosis in different treatment groups of breast cancer patients. We use an integrated approach where we combine information from questionnaires, body measurements, tumor tissue, blood samples, genotypes, and medical records with registers for optimal follow-up. We use both public databases, our own cohorts, and mechanistic studies to illuminate whether the associations we find in patient material have a causal link to the exposure. Data from both our own and public cohorts are used and analyzed with statistical and bioinformatic methods. We have previously reported on how common lifestyle factors such as coffee, smoking, and alcohol are linked to breast cancer prognosis in different treatment groups, but more research is being stifled. Education at both basic and advanced levels is also conducted within the group.

Within the research group, we value a good work environment with respect and care in our relationships with each other. We constantly work to create conditions for job satisfaction, development, and participation for all employees.

We are now looking for a Project Assistant on a 100% basis for 9 months, with a desired start date of September 1, 2026.
