The Department of Finance and Planning is responsible for the university's financial management, accounting, annual accounts, budgeting and forecasting, financial monitoring and analysis, financial administration, invoice processing, travel services, business planning and monitoring, as well as procurement. The department's mission is to work with both ongoing operational activities and development and strategic issues within its areas of responsibility. The department consists of the units Accounting and Business Economics and a support staff.

Mittuniversitetet is now seeking an accountant (financial specialist) for a fixed-term position as a financial specialist within the Accounting unit. The unit handles budgets, forecasts, project support, accounting, annual accounts, invoices, and Mittuniversitetet's travel coordination. A key part of the role is to provide good service and support to the operations in financial matters. The department works in the financial system Unit4 ERP (Agresso) and uses Hypergene for budgeting and monitoring.

Responsibilities

You are one of six financial specialists working with accounting issues, annual accounts, monitoring and analysis, as well as the financial parts of interim reports and annual accounts. Furthermore, the role involves actively participating in the development and adaptation of university-wide financial processes, accounting and control models, and conducting internal training. University-wide financial matters are handled continuously within the unit and distributed among financial specialists according to areas of responsibility. As needed, you will also be involved in budgeting and forecasting.

Your background

We are looking for you who have:

• A relevant university degree
• Several years of experience in accounting
• Good ability to communicate and document in Swedish and English

Furthermore, it is meritorious if you have:

• Experience working with finance in the higher education sector or other public sector operations
• Experience with Unit4 ERP (Agresso) and Hypergene

Your personal qualities

The role requires you to be structured, have good analytical skills, and be problem-solving. Furthermore, you are service-oriented and have good collaboration skills. You work independently within the scope of the position. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

Employment and start date

The employment is a special fixed-term position on a full-time basis, starting on 2026-08-17 or by agreement, until 2027-03-31.
