The Health and Care Administration is responsible for providing care, support, and assistance to the elderly and people with disabilities, as well as supporting their relatives. The Role and Responsibilities
The Housing Support within LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) under the Health and Care Administration is now recruiting a Support Pedagogue.
As a Support Pedagogue, you work to strengthen the residents' participation, independence, and self-determination in daily life. You are part of the core staff and participate in day-to-day work together with support assistants. At the same time, you have an extended pedagogical responsibility where you mentor colleagues, ensure quality in working methods, and contribute to the development of the operations.
You use your specialized knowledge within the LSS area, based on values, ethics, and relevant legislation. The assignment includes working with methods, documentation, mapping, and action plans, as well as using pedagogical tools that strengthen the residents' participation, influence, and security.
Your main tasks:
- Participate in daily work together with support assistants. Mentor colleagues in social documentation, implementation plans, low-affective interaction, and pedagogical working methods.
- Introduce, apply, and follow up on methods such as AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), clarifying pedagogy, and other communication and conversation methods.
- Contribute to method development and improvement work in collaboration with the unit manager, business developer, and work group.
- Network and collaborate with other Support Pedagogues to spread knowledge and develop common working methods.
- Work evidence-based with documentation, routines, and follow-up to ensure the quality of support to the residents.
The position consists of 25 percent administrative work and 75 percent day-to-day work in the operations. The assignment is driven by the needs of the operations and the residents, which means you need to be able to adapt your working style based on the situation and assignment.
As a Support Pedagogue, you combine close support in daily life with a development assignment. Through your work, you contribute to the residents having the conditions for an independent, meaningful, and secure life.

You who apply to us
You have a university college degree as a Support Pedagogue within the disability area. You have experience working with people with disabilities and with implementing pedagogical methods in practice.
To succeed in the role, you need to have experience with social documentation and implementation plans. You also need to be able to communicate clearly in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as the work involves documentation, collaboration, and mentoring of colleagues.
Other requirements:
- Previous work experience within the LSS area or social psychiatry.
- Experience with social documentation.
- Experience with implementing pedagogical methods in practice.
- Experience with drawing up implementation plans.
- Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
- Good computer skills.
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- Completed social worker education.
- Experience working with mentoring and working methods regarding users with complex needs and/or challenging behaviors.
- Nursing assistant education and proof of protected professional title.
- Experience with co-morbidity issues.
- Knowledge of communication support such as AAC or PECS.
- Experience with investigating deviations according to the Social Services Act (SoL).
In the role of Support Pedagogue, you need to be secure in your professional practice and able to provide support and guidance to both colleagues and residents. You use a professional approach in day-to-day situations and can adapt your working style based on the needs of the operations. You work pedagogically, structured, and solution-oriented to strengthen the residents' independence, participation, and influence.
The work takes place in close collaboration with support assistants, other Support Pedagogues, the unit manager, and the business developer. Therefore, you need to contribute to good collaboration, share knowledge, and be active in the development of common working methods. You have the ability to implement methods in practice, follow up on results, and contribute to improvements even when conditions change.
