Järva Group and Service Housing, Area 2, is now looking for two support pedagogues (special education teachers).

This is a new role established to strengthen the pedagogical work and further develop the operations' methods and approaches. Here, you will have the opportunity to work in an operation characterized by development and optimism for the future. You will become part of a team with high competence and a strong focus on quality. The position is located at one of the district's group homes.

Your role

As a support pedagogue, you have overall responsibility for the pedagogical development of the operation and for ensuring that the pedagogical work is conducted systematically, structured, and with good quality. At the same time, you are part of the day-to-day work and work together with other employees to provide users with support in their daily lives based on individual needs, wishes, and conditions.

The work is based at the users' homes and includes, among other things, support in daily life as well as accompaniment to leisure activities, doctor's visits, and other societal contacts. We continuously work to strengthen the users' participation and influence over the support and services offered.

Duties include, among other things:

  • Develop and quality-assure methods regarding documentation, mapping, and action plans.
  • Support and supervise colleagues in pedagogical methods and approaches.
  • Spread knowledge about clarifying pedagogy and contribute to its implementation in daily work.
  • Together with colleagues, develop and drive the pedagogical work based on the operation's pedagogical framework.
  • Coordinate and develop the pedagogical work by inspiring, guiding, and ensuring that evidence-based methods are used to strengthen the quality of the operation.
  • Contribute to the development and use of cognitive support based on the users' individual needs.

You report to the unit manager and will eventually be part of the area's network for support pedagogues. The position is divided between approximately 25 percent pedagogical development work and 75 percent regular work in the group home. The distribution may be adjusted based on the operation's needs.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • Support pedagogue education from a University College (YH) or another pedagogical university education.
  • At least four years of experience working with people with intellectual disabilities.
  • Experience with documentation.
  • Documented knowledge of the LSS Act (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments).
  • Knowledge of low-affective handling (de-escalation techniques).
  • Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Worked with people with challenging behavior.
  • Experience in motivating, inspiring, and supervising others within pedagogy.
  • Experience in Motivational Interviewing (MI).

We are now looking for you who have a strong commitment and interest in working with people within target group 1 (people with intellectual disabilities).

You are professional, flexible, and work with a clear focus on quality and results. You have good collaboration skills, enjoy working in a team, and can also work independently and take initiative. As a person, you are creative, solution-oriented, and dare to try new approaches. You have good communication skills and pedagogical insight, and are confident in your role with the ability to create trust and engagement among both users and colleagues.

Probationary employment may be applied. The position involves scheduled working hours with work during days, evenings, and weekends.

To work with elderly people and people with disabilities in their homes for Stockholm City, you must show an extract from the criminal record registry. The extract must not be older than 6 months from the date of issue, and you apply for it on the Police's website.
