Stockholm – our capital city full of millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. We are now looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
The Bromma District Administration offers you a workplace where your efforts can truly make a difference and contribute to the public good in a growing district. Here, active employee participation and clear leadership form the foundation for a developing operation.
Welcome to us
We are now looking for a new colleague for our foster care and contact services!
Here, we actively work on how you, as an employee, experience your working environment while keeping development in focus. Children's participation is a central part of our work, and we have several child rights advocates responsible for safeguarding children's rights. The Children and Youth Area consists of employees who have a positive attitude towards work, support each other, and create joy in work even in tough situations. The area is part of the Social Services and Leisure Department within the Bromma District Administration, which is responsible for the district's individual and family care, disability services, financial assistance, field work, school social workers, prevention, and safety work, among other things.
The Unit for Foster Care and Contact Services consists of a group of eight social secretaries, one contact secretary, one team leader, and one unit manager. The unit belongs to the Children and Youth Area and is led by an area manager. The area is divided into four units, each with its own unit manager, two method developers, one mentor, and three administrative assistants.
The position is a one-year temporary assignment with a possible extension, as one of our colleagues is on parental leave.
We offer
We offer you a wellness allowance, the possibility of holiday exchange, and flexible working hours. As a new employee in the Children and Youth Area, you will receive a good introduction from our mentor, regardless of previous professional experience. We have an introduction plan that is followed up regularly during your first period with us, and we offer you close supervision with good opportunities for development.
We in the Children and Youth Area:
- Participate in several forms of collaboration with internal and external actors, such as the police, healthcare, and schools/preschools.
- Regularly follow up on your social working environment through "Bromma Conversations".
- Offer external supervision.
- Opportunities for further education at both basic and advanced levels.
Your role
The main task of the foster care unit is to follow up on care and ensure that children placed in foster homes have their basic needs met in their foster families. As a social secretary within foster care, you will handle child cases where you follow up on the child's placement and care, as well as recruit, investigate, and supervise foster homes.
We wish for you to:
- Have a strong child and youth perspective.
- Be responsible, flexible, and stable.
- Have good empathetic skills and be able to create good collaborative relationships.
- Be structured and secure in your professional role, placing great emphasis on legally secure case processing.
- Work independently by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work well.
- Have very good written expression skills, as documentation is an important part of the work.
Your competence and experience
We are looking for you who have completed a social work degree and have knowledge of current legislation, as well as experience in processing child and/or youth cases with the support of BBIC. The work is conducted according to the Social Services Act (SoL), the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), and other applicable legislation. It is an advantage if you have experience working in a foster care group. Since the work often involves meeting people in crisis and/or with complex life situations, it is important that you can see opportunities, convey hope, and treat people in a respectful manner. We are looking for you who are curious, engaged, and have a desire to drive your own and the unit's development forward. To thrive with us, you should enjoy varied work in a changing environment where no two days are alike.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Training in the Stockholm Model or Nya Kälvesten.
- Training and experience with BBIC.
- Experience in authority enforcement within child and youth care.
- Knowledge of the Paraply database system.
- A B driver's license.
We will begin the selection process during the application period, and interviews may take place on a rolling basis. In the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
