About the Substitute Teacher Pool

Grillska Gymnasium in Uppsala is seeking substitute teachers for all subject combinations for our SUBSTITUTE TEACHER POOL. Your primary responsibility will be to cover classes for temporarily absent teachers across all subjects in the upper secondary school. Depending on needs and opportunities, you will have a number of teaching shifts scheduled each week.

As a substitute teacher, you are not responsible for planning the lessons. The regular teacher prepares the lesson plans in advance of your classes.

Our schools operate according to a common pedagogical model, consisting of our mission, vision, core values, and eight key characteristics. This model guides our work to contribute to our students' knowledge, personal development, and learning. It focuses on achieving positive effects on learning and knowledge development.

All lessons are cohesive and long, lasting 120–180 minutes. The lessons follow a structure with clear goals and purposes and vary in teaching methods.

Qualifications

A high school diploma is required. Higher education is not a requirement but is considered an asset. Previous experience in similar or related roles is also considered an asset.

The City Mission School Foundation is a non-profit organization that runs upper secondary education at Grillska Gymnasium and Grillska Special Secondary School, and adult education at the City Mission Folk High School and City Mission University College. With approximately 3,000 students, we are one of Sweden's largest non-profit educational providers.

The foundation works according to a pedagogical model with shared activities and methods. This means, among other things, that our education is characterized by civic engagement, entrepreneurship, and health, and has a clear connection to real life.
