Sverkerskolan is a preschool to grade 9 school located in the heart of Luthagen. The lower school is housed in two beautiful school buildings from the early 1900s, and the operations have gradually expanded for the higher grades into nearby, renovated premises. The school also has a special education group that today receives approximately 60 students from the municipality's compulsory schools.
Sverkerskolan has long been an stimulating and developmental environment for both students and staff. There is a strong tradition of pedagogical development and innovation here. The school's staff consists of several different specialist functions, which contributes to broad competence and a diversity of perspectives.
Description of Duties
As a teacher in this position, you will be part of our resource unit, which is now being expanded to better meet the needs we see among our students. The position is therefore an reinforcement of the operations and part of the school's continued investment in creating good conditions for students in need of special support.
You will, together with other teachers in the resource unit, be responsible for teaching and support measures for students who need a more adapted learning environment to succeed in school.
The role involves working closely with students with extensive support needs and sometimes challenging behaviors. Therefore, we are looking for you who are confident, clear, and relationship-building, as well as having a good ability to create structure, motivation, and a conducive study environment, and who have a strong student focus and genuine commitment to students in need of special support.
You plan, implement, evaluate, and develop teaching based on the curriculum and other regulatory documents in close collaboration with colleagues and student health services. You are also involved in developing the school's work to make teaching accessible to all students.
You will have the opportunity to make a real difference for our students by contributing your competence, your engagement, and your ability to create positive relationships. With the student at the center, you work to create the best possible conditions for learning, development, and goal achievement.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a Swedish teaching qualification, or are awaiting one, in Physical Education and Health, preferably in combination with another subject. You have good knowledge of the school's regulatory documents and the compulsory school curriculum, as well as good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. Experience of working in a special education group is a requirement.
It is meritorious if you have experience of working with students with challenging behaviors and students in need of special support. We also appreciate that you have knowledge of and experience with language-developing methods, as well as good IT skills with a focus on pedagogical work. As a person, you are confident, clear, and have a good ability to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
You are pedagogical, proactive, and flexible, with a good understanding of students' different prerequisites for absorbing knowledge. You have the ability to adapt teaching, take responsibility for driving the work forward, and enjoy collaborating with others to give each student the best possible conditions for success.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
