The Quality and Patient Safety unit is part of the Patient Safety, Development and Research in Health Care area. The unit acts as experts and advisors in matters related to quality and patient safety with the aim of contributing to safe care. The unit includes several different functions, including the Medicines Unit, Infection Prevention and Control, Chief Physicians, and Patient Safety Coordinators. You will primarily be part of a team consisting of patient safety coordinators, chief physicians, and case handlers. We work on a county-wide basis, which involves travel within the county.
We are now looking for a Patient Safety Coordinator for Quality and Patient Safety! The position is a permanent part-time role at 50%, where you will work clinically for the remaining 50%. The start date is 2026-10-01. The workplace will be in one of the towns: Örnsköldsvik, Sundsvall, or Sollefteå, to be determined in dialogue with the hiring manager.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Patient Safety Coordinator, you will work with various initiatives to support the organizations' quality and patient safety work, including investigations in cases of suspected serious harm, risk analyses, and nursing issues. We take a proactive approach in our work, for example, by providing patient safety training to the organization, identifying areas for improvement in patient safety through dialogue with the units, and highlighting good examples. You will receive an introduction tailored to your competence and previous experience. Competence development is ensured continuously, and further studies are encouraged. Your tasks will include, among others:
- Investigation work in cases of suspected serious harm: act as a methodological support in the units' investigation work and serve as an analysis leader in central investigations.
- Patient Safety Dialogues: proactive work reviewing the unit's current situation and need for support regarding patient safety culture and outcomes in quality and patient safety metrics.
- Patient Safety Training for various target groups, such as managers, operational investigators, and newly hired employees.
- Patient Safety Risk Analyses: act as an expert towards the units and document and lead the analysis in collaboration with chief physicians in overarching risk analyses.
- Are a registered nurse
- Have several years of professional experience in the field
- Have good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing
- Have a valid driver's license (Category B)
- Have experience with patient safety work, such as risk analyses or investigation work in cases of suspected serious harm using the event analysis method.
