The County Administrative Board is an expert agency within the fields of nature and environment, community planning, and rural affairs, directly subordinate to the Government. We act as a link between people, municipalities, regions, and various authorities. We work to ensure that national goals are implemented in the county. Description
You will belong to the Nature Protection Unit, which currently consists of approximately 15 people. We are part of the Nature Department, which is responsible, among other things, for the work concerning the protection and management of valuable nature. The unit's main area of work primarily concerns the protection and preservation of nature values in Södermanland from a broad perspective. Our main tasks are partly to process cases and perform supervision according to Chapters 7 and 12 of the Environmental Code, and partly to work with formal protection of areas, especially by establishing new nature reserves.

You will be part of a group of approximately eight people who work with the processing of cases according to Chapters 7 and 12 of the Environmental Code, where you will work both independently and in close collaboration with your colleagues.
Job Responsibilities
Your duties consist of case processing and presentation of existing cases at the Nature Protection Unit. The cases concern activities that may affect valuable nature, threatened species, and their habitats. This can include consultations for interventions in the natural environment as well as dispensations from species protection and protected areas (nature reserves, Natura 2000, habitat protection, shore protection, nature monuments, animal and plant protection areas). The duties may also include acting as a consultative authority for physical planning, infrastructure, wildlife issues, and environmental impact assessments.
Qualifications and Profile
We are looking for you who
- Have a degree at the higher education or university level (at least 3 years) in the subject areas of biology, nature conservation, or ecology, or other education that we assess as equivalent.
- Have experience in processing nature conservation cases based on the Environmental Code.
- Express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have good experience with the Office package.
- Have a B driver's license, as field visits are a natural part of the work.
Experience working with GIS tools is an advantage.

You are result-oriented, which means that you complete your own and joint tasks and goals within the set time. You also need to be able to work both independently and in a group. Furthermore, you need to be solution-oriented, have a good sense of order, and have the ability to independently structure your work weeks. That you have good cooperation skills and contribute to a positive work climate is seen as a prerequisite.
As a person, you are structured, clear, and flexible. With your communication skills, you contribute to a constructive dialogue and good cooperation. You have an interest in getting to know new areas and seeking new information, are confident in yourself, and stand by decisions made.

About the Position
The employment is permanent. A probationary period of six months may apply. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement.
All positions at the County Administrative Board may be subject to security clearance and mobilization depending on the nature of the assignment.

The salary range for the current position is: 38,000 – 46,000 SEK/month.
