We are looking for a Controller who wants to contribute to the development of operations through qualified analyses and proactive financial support. At the Service Administration in Eskilstuna Municipality, you will become part of an organization with a clear direction forward. The Accounting and Analysis Unit consists of approximately 30 colleagues driven by development, collaboration, and quality. We are currently in an exciting phase where digitalization and improved working methods are in focus.

The position is a permanent employment starting with a six-month probationary period.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Controller, you play a key role in the municipality's financial management and help operations make well-founded decisions. You work broadly within the financial area, including budgeting, forecasting, financial follow-up, analysis, as well as accounting and closing work. The role combines business-oriented work with a clear development perspective. You drive and participate in developing processes, routines, and working methods for efficient and quality-assured financial management.

An important part of the assignment is to support managers in financial matters. Through analyses, follow-ups, and decision support materials, you help operations understand financial connections and make well-founded decisions. You collaborate with financial managers, operational managers, and unit managers within the municipality's various administrations and contribute to strengthening financial management in the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have an academic degree in economics of at least 180 higher education credits, or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You have experience in independently responsible for financial management within an operational area, a department, or similar. Through previous work as a controller or within accounting or auditing, you have developed a good ability to analyze, follow up, and prepare decision support materials for managers and leadership. You have strong analytical skills and are accustomed to identifying deviations, trends, and financial connections. You have experience linking goals and assignments to financial analyses and follow-up models.

We would appreciate if you have experience in change and development work. You have participated in or initiated initiatives to develop financial processes, follow-up methods, or management models. Experience in project management, digitalization, or other improvement assignments is meritorious. Furthermore, if you have worked in a larger organization, for example within municipal or public operations, it is an advantage. You have good knowledge of Microsoft Office and use Excel at an advanced level. It is meritorious if you have worked with BI tools such as Power BI, Qlik, or similar.

You are analytical, structured, and have an easy time seeing both details and the big picture. You work carefully and systematically, take responsibility for your tasks, and act with high integrity. You have good collaboration and communication skills, where you can explain financial connections to different target groups in a pedagogical way and build trusting relationships. You are professional, service-oriented, and confident in a role where you contribute with support, structure, and a solution-oriented approach.
