Storsjöskolan is a school for grades 4–9 located in Holmsund, 1.5 miles outside Umeå. Holmsund is situated in the archipelago with many beautiful natural environments and excursion destinations. At Storsjöskolan, there are many knowledgeable and dedicated educators who work for our students' safety, well-being, and achievement of goals. We are now looking for a primary school teacher for grades 7–9 to teach mathematics, natural sciences, and technology!

Employment Information

The position is a temporary vacancy, full-time, starting from 2026-08-10 to 2027-06-14.

Responsibilities

In this position, you will assist with mentor-related tasks within mathematics, natural sciences, and technology.

Your task as a primary school teacher is to plan and conduct teaching based on the curriculum, as well as engage in broader planning together with colleagues. You will individually and together with colleagues follow up, evaluate, and analyze teaching, as well as assess and document students' knowledge development. You are responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that contributes to students' goal achievement. As a teacher, you are responsible for informing the student and guardian about the student's knowledge development.

About You

You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, structure, and context for all students. You are well-versed in the school's governing documents and can follow decisions and processes. You differentiate and vary teaching based on students' needs. You share your knowledge and experiences to contribute to collegial learning. A key part of the teaching role is building good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Requirements

• Teaching license and trained primary school teacher with eligibility to teach grades 7–9 in mathematics, natural sciences, and technology.
• Experience working as a teacher in mathematics, natural sciences, and technology, as well as at the secondary level.
• Valid extract from the criminal record.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.
