Your Responsibilities

Linköping Municipality is now strengthening its data protection work by establishing a new position that will serve as a link between the operations and the Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) along with its associated regulations. As a Data Protection Strategist, you work closely with the municipality's operations and serve as a strategic support in complying with the Data Protection Regulation and related legislation. You contribute to identifying opportunities and creating conditions for efficient data protection work. In this role, you provide legal support and advice regarding the Data Protection Regulation and related legislation to the municipality's committees and departments.

In your role, you will have a varied and diverse job where you collaborate with all of the municipality's departments. You work closely with the departments' data protection coordinators and support them in making prioritizations and assessments within the data protection area. You also contribute to translating the requirements of the Data Protection Regulation and related legislation into practical working methods in the operations.

To spread knowledge and strengthen competence within the organization, you will conduct training and, when necessary, develop and revise cross-municipal policy documents within the data protection area.

In addition to working with the municipality's departments, you will also collaborate with the municipality's Data Protection Officer and municipal lawyers at the Legal Unit.

Your Workplace

As a Data Protection Strategist, you will be located at the municipality's Legal Unit. The unit is responsible for cross-municipal legal issues and ensures that professional expert support is available within law and also supports some of the municipal companies in data protection matters. The Legal Unit is led by the Chief Lawyer and consists, in addition, of six municipal lawyers, two Data Protection Officers, and one Information Security Manager.

The workplace is centrally located at Ågatan 40, and a trust period applies to this role.

You Who Apply

We are looking for you with a higher education or university degree that we assess as relevant for the assignment. You have previous experience of qualified work with data protection issues and have knowledge of the Data Protection Regulation as well as adjacent legislation. We consider experience of work within the public sector to be meritorious. Experience in enabling the use of AI solutions through the application of the Data Protection Regulation, as well as good knowledge of the AI Act, we also see as meritorious.

For the position, very good ability in oral and written communication in Swedish is required, as the work places high demands on interpreting and writing advanced text, as well as being able to convey complex legislation in a clear and pedagogical manner.

We are looking for you who have a consultative and pragmatic approach and are confident in your professional role. For the role, you must have the ability to take initiative and independently drive issues within your subject areas. You should be able to structure your work and communicate solutions in a clear and pedagogical manner, both orally and in writing. Furthermore, you work well with other people and can relate to them in a listening and smooth manner. You work towards goals and have a clear result orientation and can change your direction when goals change.
