The Clinic for Gaming Disorder and Screen Health offers CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) for gaming disorder (gambling) and video game dependence. Our patients come from all over the Region of Västra Götaland and can seek help from us from the year they turn 16. Our goal is to be Sweden's leading knowledge center regarding gaming disorder and video game dependence, and to spread current knowledge in an accessible way.

Treatment is provided either individually, in groups, or via internet-based treatment. The treatments also include components from Motivational Interviewing (MI). We work systematically with evaluating our treatments and drive research projects regarding our patient groups and the effect of our treatments. One of our largest research projects at the moment is a randomized controlled study where we evaluate a completely new CBT treatment for video game dependence developed at the clinic. We are also soon starting a study on an internet-based treatment program (iCBT) for gaming disorder.

Psychologists, social workers, and administrators work at the clinic. We also have researchers and doctoral students attached to the activity, as well as access to physicians when needed. What do we offer?

Here you will find experienced and helpful colleagues, and well-established routines to support your work. As an employee at a specialist unit where we simultaneously conduct research, you will gain access to current knowledge within our specialist areas, gaming disorder and video game dependence, and work together with your colleagues to apply this to develop care. We have regular method support for MI (Motivational Interviewing) as well as time allocated for joint supervision.

As a psychologist at the Addiction Activity, you will also become part of the active and engaged psychologist group within the addiction activity, which holds regular meetings and training days.

Responsibilities

As a Research PTP at the clinic, you will be involved in both the clinical work at the clinic and the research being conducted. The treatment work concerns both gaming disorder and video game dependence. You will conduct assessment interviews, participate in treatment conferences, and perform CBT treatments individually, in groups, and online.

The research tasks during the PTP period will be linked to one of our ongoing research projects. You will receive regular supervision in research tasks and will also be able to participate in other research-related meetings at the clinic.

About You

We are looking for you who have a degree in psychology and an interest in CBT, learning theory, and research work. You also see it as a natural and important part of your working method to continuously evaluate treatment results.

We value psychiatry and addiction competence as well as experience working with CBT treatment. If you also have specific experience working with the treatment of gaming disorder or video game dependence, it is an extra merit.

Since the clinic is under continuous development, we value traits such as the ability to see development opportunities and take initiative, attention to detail, flexibility, and good teamwork skills. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
