NU Hospital is part of the Region of Västra Götaland and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Norra Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. The hospital's catchment area covers 280,000 inhabitants. Together, we are approximately 5,000 employees who work every day to provide good and safe specialist care. About the Department

MÄVA is an abbreviation for Medical Elderly Care Department. The clinic's MÄVA departments are for chronically ill patients who are older than 75 years with recurring needs for emergency care and who have deteriorated in their chronic illness. Our patients have many different diagnoses such as heart failure, COPD, infections, and diabetes, which makes our work both developing and challenging. At MÄVA, you will also work with CPAP, BIPAP, and arrhythmia registration.

We want to contribute to increased accessibility and security, reducing anxiety and worry. With short and simple contact routes, our ambition is that care and support should be delivered at the right level at the right time.

The care at MÄVA has the task to:

  • Treat current disease symptoms
  • Plan and establish contacts so that patients continue to receive the help they need

A large part of our patients come directly to the department without first passing through the emergency room. We are also part of Collaborative Healthcare, which means that we cooperate with ambulances, the municipality, and primary care. The work at MÄVA is strongly development- and team-oriented. We try new ways of working in order to improve the care of our patients and to develop different professional roles. Your Assignment and Role

The position is 50% administrative team leader work and 50% patient-proximate care. We create individual schedules, and as a team leader, you work 4-5 weekends per 10 weeks.

Your overall assignment as a team leader is to coordinate and lead the daily work and to replace the unit manager in their absence. In your role as a team leader, you act as a role model with the entire department in focus. You are responsible for leading and developing the department's employees in an inspiring and inclusive manner based on the Region of Västra Götaland's criteria for leadership. As a team leader, you communicate clearly together with the manager what you, together with the employees, should achieve and explain how you will get there.

Your duties include among other things:

  • Handle and organize daily issues at the unit
  • Initiate and drive business development/quality development for the entire department
  • Follow up on results from set quality goals and development work
  • Follow up on the Green Cross certification
  • Be responsible for patient safety, which includes handling and follow-up of deviations in Medcontrol
  • Together with the manager, find solutions for sick leave, vacation applications, and vacation planning.
  • Short-term recruitment and long-term recruitment.
  • Handle scheduling issues including schedule adjustments
  • Plan and lead meetings together with the unit manager
  • Work continuously on local routines
  • Work with ongoing internal information from the unit's various meeting forums and weekly newsletters
  • Participate in occupational health and safety work
  • Be responsible for the introduction of new staff
  • Student responsibility
  • Invoicing management

Qualifications

You are a person with a genuine interest in elderly care. It is meritorious if you are a registered nurse but not a requirement. Good knowledge of MÄVA is also meritorious.

You have a strong interest in development and quality issues. It is meritorious if you have experience in management work.

As a team leader, you have the ability to balance the roles as business responsible, employer representative, and healthcare personnel. You can evaluate different alternatives in a constructive way and can plan strategically to achieve set goals.

Furthermore, you are good at communicating, both verbally and in writing. As a leader, you see the whole picture and can create participation and engagement in the entire work group.

Personal suitability is given great weight.
