About the position

The Data Protection Officer (DPO) has an independent advisory and supervisory role and is tasked with guiding the organization, management, and employees regarding their obligations under data protection legislation.

The DPO also serves as the contact person for the Swedish Integration and Asylum Protection Authority (IMY) and for individuals whose data is processed by Svenska kraftnät.

As a Data Protection Officer, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Responsibility for steering documents, processes, frameworks, structures, and routines within the data protection area.
• Responsibility for, and work with, the register of processing activities of personal data.
• Investigation and assessment of suspected incidents, as well as handling, reporting, notification, and follow-up of confirmed incidents.
• Support in handling the exercise of rights and acting as a contact person in relation to data subjects.
• Providing training.
• Advice regarding the preparation of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and monitoring their implementation.
• Contact person towards IMY and contact person for employees and data subjects.
• Position-taking in strategic data protection matters.
• Ensuring compliance with the agency's obligations within the data protection area.
• Reporting on data protection work to the Director General and the Board.

By fostering good collaboration between different competencies and parts of the organization, you contribute to a legally secure and uniform application of the law within Sweden and within the complex organization that is Svenska kraftnät.

The Data Protection Officer is organizationally placed within the Legal Department, directly under the Department Head, and reports data protection work to the Director General and the Board. You also work closely with the data protection lawyer located within the Corporate Legal unit.

Education:

You must have a Swedish law degree or a Candidate of Law (Jur. Cand.) degree.

You also have:

• At least four years of current experience in independent legal work, as a Data Protection Officer, data protection lawyer, or within IT legal counsel at a large authority.
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.

Merits
