We are currently looking for several case officers.
About the Role
As a case officer at one of the CSO units (Civil Society Unit), you will be part of a dynamic group of colleagues handling support to civil society organizations. Your tasks will include reviewing and assessing applications, preparing decision-making materials, conducting project follow-ups, and engaging in dialogue with various actors within the aid sector. The work includes support via both Swedish and international civil society organizations, as well as direct support to civil society in developing countries. Through your work, you will contribute to promoting democracy, human rights, and human security, and to strengthening the capacity and conditions of organizations. You will also participate in and contribute to the unit's learning and method development.
You will work at Sida's office in Rissne, Sundbyberg. The position is located within the Global Division, which consolidates global strategy and intervention management and works based on Sida's different thematic areas.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Processing interventions, including the assessment of applications, follow-up and analysis of interventions, and dialogue with partners.
- Using and developing relevant methods and approaches to support civil society, including partner capacity development, results-based management, and aid effectiveness.
- Preparing background materials and engaging in dialogue at various levels and with different actors, including other donors.
- Coordinating groups and processes within the unit.
- As needed, being responsible for contacts with internal and external actors, such as foreign missions and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA), as well as the business community and the research community.
- Other duties common to the unit and division.

Qualifications
Education
- An academic degree in social sciences, economics, or a related field.
Languages
- Very good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Professional Experience and Knowledge
- Extensive documented experience in international development cooperation, including experience working in developing countries.
- Documented experience in case processing within development cooperation, including work with budgets and financial reporting.
- Documented experience of working with or for civil society organizations.

For this role, you need to:

Desirable Qualifications
For this role, the following qualifications are desirable:
- Experience in processing support for actors in difficult contexts.
- Experience in policy and method development related to civil society and civil society support.
- Experience working on issues related to democracy, human rights, rule of law principles, gender equality, free market and property rights, accountability, tolerance, anti-corruption, and/or peace and security.
- Experience with innovative interventions in development cooperation.
- Broad experience working in government, private sector, or multilateral organizations.
- Language skills in French, Spanish, Arabic, or other languages relevant to Sida.
Good to Know
The positions are permanent appointments with an intended start date in August 2026. Probation period applies.
Sida offers the possibility of remote work to some extent if it works for the operations.
