As a Folk Education Developer, you are a central part of our operations. You translate the ideas of folk education into practice and create meaningful learning processes together with participants, leaders, and associations. The role involves both strategic and operational work – from initiating collaborations and planning activities to monitoring results and contributing to development at the local, regional, and sometimes national level.
You work in a dynamic environment where you have ample opportunity to influence and shape the content of the operations, always with the needs of participants and societal challenges in focus.
The work consists of a combination of external contacts, organization/coordination, education, and administration.
Tasks and Areas of ResponsibilityAs a Folk Education Developer, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and developing Studiefrämjandet's local folk education activities, primarily within the profile area of animals (primarily within the dog branch). Within the framework of the position, you maintain established collaborations, contribute to the educational needs of our member organizations, and develop our operations. You will train associations in various types of association knowledge and train circle leaders in folk education pedagogy and group dynamics. Together with other Folk Education Developers, you will work with activities within our other profile areas: nature, environment, and culture.
In the role, you will among other things:
Start and develop folk education activities
Engage and train circle leaders and associations
Support leaders and participants in their learning
Develop and maintain collaborations with groups and associations
Organize, arrange, and participate in various types of events and activities
Coordinate and administer the operations
Work with partial budget responsibility
Develop and maintain collaborations with municipalities and other organizations
We are looking for someone who is engaged, self-reliant, and has a genuine interest in folk education and our profile area of animals.
You easily build trust, build and maintain relationships, and collaborate with people from different backgrounds.
You have a strong civic engagement and are a skilled coordinator. As a person, you are structured, have good collaboration skills, and the ability to independently initiate, plan, drive, and complete your activities. You have good pedagogical skills and can lead and support groups in their learning, as well as lead simpler processes.
You are proficient with computers and possess very good knowledge in administration and digital meeting tools, as well as basic knowledge in financial management. We also see that you have good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Naturally, you also share our vision that all people should have knowledge, strength, and space to participate in the development of a sustainable and democratic society.

ExperienceWe are looking for someone with post-secondary education, preferably with education in animals, nature, or similar areas. It is an advantage to have experience from study associations/folk education, civil society/non-profit sector, or other association activities. It is an advantage if you have an established network within animals (and possibly other profile areas) and association life in Östergötland.
We OfferThe position is a one-year temporary contract, with the possibility of extension. Start date: ASAP according to agreement. Scope: 100%.
50% of the position consists of folk education work within the animal profile area (primarily cooperation with dog clubs/associations). The scope and content of the remaining part of the position can be shaped according to your profile and competence/experience, as we have a need for further reinforcement within our other profile areas: nature, environment, and culture.
Employment based on the collective agreement "Salaried Employees in Civil Society". We apply individual and differentiated salary setting. For the position, target-oriented working hours apply (full-time is 37.5 hours/week). Parts of the work take place in the evenings and sometimes on weekends.
You work throughout Östergötland with a base in Linköping or Norrköping. Parts of the work can be done remotely. Travel within the region occurs, as well as sometimes travel within the entire department's coverage area. Driving license and access to a car are meritorious.
