Region Östergötland runs three schools, which are grouped under the Regional Development Board. Vreta Education Centre is located just outside Linköping, Himmelstalund Education Centre is situated in Norrköping, and Lunnevad Folk High School lies between Vikingstad and Mantorp.

At Vreta Education Centre, the Nature Management Programme's specializations in agriculture, horse management, and forestry are offered, as well as the Vehicle and Transport Programme's transport specialization. Additionally, the Vehicle and Transport Programme offers a specialization for Professional Drivers and a nationally recruiting specialization for Recovery Drivers. National Sports Education (NIU) is offered in equestrian sports (dressage or show jumping). Vocational adult education and vocational higher education programs are available in agriculture, horse management, and forestry. The Adapted Upper Secondary School offers the national program Forest, Land and Animals.

Job Description

We are looking for a vocational teacher in riding and driving who can teach vocational subjects within the horse specialization in collaboration with the horse education staff. You will be part of the horse education team and actively participate in the team's development work, so you should be able to work well with others, listen, and communicate. You will also participate in workplace meetings, staff meetings, and further training. You will actively work for the school's value base and, through collaboration with the school's other staff, contribute to a cross-curricular working approach.

Work Group

You will organizationally belong to the horse unit, which includes teachers in both vocational subjects and common upper secondary subjects, stable instructors, mentors, and student assistants.

About You

It is meritorious if you are a licensed vocational teacher in subjects within the nature management program's horse specialization, a certified Swedish Riding Instructor Level II or III, or have completed the Hippology Education. You have teaching experience, several years of experience from the horse industry, and broad experience within the horse's various professional areas. Experience in driving and/or trotting is also meritorious. A Category B driver's license is required.

Great importance is attached to you fitting in and being able to work in our team. The position at the horse education presupposes that you are flexible, can collaborate well with other people, listen, understand, and lead by example. Furthermore, great importance will be placed on personal suitability to perform the job duties described above. This means that you enjoy meeting young people at different levels and can lead, coach, engage, and motivate them to want to develop within your subject area. You must have the ability to lead groups and individuals as well as the ability to convey knowledge.

You enjoy working with young people, which means you are outgoing and socially active, enjoy making contacts and maintaining relationships. You must be able to communicate clearly, ensure that messages get through, and that expectations are clear for all parties involved. It is also important to be able to plan, organize, and prioritize work efficiently and set and maintain timeframes. To be able to help all students, it is also important that you are calm, stable, and controlled in stressful situations. You must be able to make quick decisions in different situations in your work with students, take initiative, and achieve good results. You must be able to be creative and come up with new ideas to increase the quality of the education and work for the development of the operations.
