Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for providing individually tailored involuntary care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements closed youth care at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. Working with us offers a challenging and rewarding career where you contribute to life-changing impacts, regardless of your specific role or location.

At our headquarters in Solna Business Park, approximately 400 employees work to support and develop the agency, which has a total workforce of around 5,000 employees.

Job Description

Do you have experience in investigative work? Are you analytical, quality-conscious, and driven by curiosity to investigate, analyze, and formulate conclusions in a pedagogical manner? If so, we are looking for you as an Investigator for SiS Youth Care. You will be part of a team with colleagues located in various cities across the country.

As an Investigator within the Youth Care Department, you will work together with your colleagues to handle delegated tasks for the unit. These tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Work within systematic quality assurance, primarily involving investigations under Lex Sarah and, to some extent, handling complaints.
  • Processing statements and decisions from authorities conducting external supervision, primarily the Inspection for Care and Welfare (IVO).
  • Participating in other assignments and investigations of varying complexity.
  • Handling referrals, drafting responses to referrals, and managing other matters related to the unit's delegated tasks.

You will work both independently and in collaboration with staff at the unit, our youth homes, and other departments at the headquarters. The role involves participating in meetings as needed and prioritizing urgent assignments effectively. Since our youth homes are located throughout the country, travel is an integral part of the job.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • An academic degree in behavioral science, social work, law, or another academic degree that SiS deems equivalent.
  • Several years of experience in relevant, qualified investigative work.
  • Experience in systematic quality work.
  • Good proficiency in spoken and written Swedish.

It is meritorious if you also have:

  • Experience investigating Lex Sarah cases.
  • Experience from public administration and familiarity with common case processing.
  • Knowledge of or experience working with involuntary care.
  • Category B driver's license.

To succeed in this role, you must be able to work both independently and in a team. We value candidates who are meticulous, structured, and efficient in prioritizing and solving tasks. Additionally, you should have good judgment, take significant personal responsibility, and drive your work forward. The ability to explain and communicate complex matters simply is crucial, and personal suitability is highly valued.

At SiS, we value a good work environment where you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and foster good collaboration. Read more about our work culture and leadership at Statens institutionsstyrelse (https://www.stat-inst.se/jobba-hos-oss/medarbetarskap-och-ledarskap/).
