Are you passionate about LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and looking for a new career opportunity? Do you want to combine daily care work with leading others while contributing to creating a meaningful everyday life for people with disabilities? With Joy, Engagement, and Respect as our guiding stars, we strive to ensure that every individual gets to live a life characterized by self-determination and development. Do you want to join us?

About the Position

As a Unit Manager, you are a central part of the operation and an extended arm to the Operations Manager. You combine leadership with active participation in daily care work, meaning that during the majority of your working hours you both lead and work closely with staff and service users. By being a role model, you contribute to a positive and secure work environment while ensuring that the operation maintains high quality and follows current guidelines.

In addition to duties as a support assistant, some of your regular tasks will include:

  • Supporting, guiding, and coaching other staff in daily operations.
  • Managing time reporting, scheduling, onboarding of new staff, and recruitment of hourly substitutes.
  • Supporting employees with specific areas of responsibility and ensuring the operation is correctly staffed.
  • Responsible for invoice handling, purchasing, and maintaining the operation's budget.
  • Ensuring that documentation, such as implementation plans and risk assessments, follows current guidelines. You also participate in collaboration meetings and follow up on internal controls.
  • Contributing in-depth knowledge within the field of disability and developing the pedagogical approach in the operation.
  • Communicating with relatives and other people surrounding the participant.

The position is a permanent employment, with a possible probationary period, at approximately 95% with start date by agreement. Our operation determines the working hours, which can be day, evening, weekend, and on-call.

With us, you get a workplace characterized by joy, engaged employees, good camaraderie, and an accessible leader. As an employee, you are also offered benefits such as a generous wellness allowance and an Edenred lunch card (subsidized lunch). Naturally, we also have collective agreements.

About You

To succeed in the job, we see that you have:

  • At least a high school diploma from the Care and Nursing program, the Child and Youth program with a social focus, or other equivalent education.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
  • Good computer skills; you can use email, Word, and work in journal systems and other operation systems.
  • Very good knowledge of what LSS entails and how the law is implemented in practice to promote self-determination and participation.
  • Long experience working with the target group and feel comfortable mentoring your colleagues.
  • Good knowledge of clarifying pedagogy and/or low-affective handling.

It is meritorious if you have post-secondary education with a focus on disabilities, pedagogy, support pedagogy, or similar. It is also positive if you have knowledge of and have worked based on KASAM (Sense of Coherence).

As a person, you are confident in yourself and take responsibility for your work. With an unpretentious and professional approach, you build good relationships with colleagues, relatives, and other people in your work. Your flexibility and ability to adapt to new conditions allow you to handle changes in a solution-focused manner. You have a strong sense of responsibility and are good at seeing the big picture, which helps you, among other things, in thoughtful decisions regarding staffing and resources.

About the Recruitment Process

Before a possible employment, you must present extracts from the criminal record registry and the suspicion registry, as well as a valid photo ID. You are responsible for ordering the extract via the Police's website. The extract that must be presented is called "Work in the home with elderly and persons with disabilities." If you are called for an interview, you must be able to prove that you have the right to work in Sweden, by showing that you have citizenship within the EU/EEA or a valid work permit.

If you have protected personal data, contact the HR department for guidance regarding the application. HR can be reached via the switchboard at 08-128 240 00.
