We are now looking for you who want to work as a Personal Assistant for users with extensive disabilities and challenging behavior. Here you will have the opportunity to work with one of the most valuable assignments there is – creating security and stability in everyday life for two young adults with great needs for support.

Your Assignment

In the role of personal assistant, you help the user with what they need support with for their daily life. The assignments can vary depending on the user's needs; it can involve everything from personal hygiene and delegated medication to being a support in various daily situations. Respect, Empathy, and Engagement are key words in our operations.

This is an assignment for you who have solid experience and a genuine interest in being with people with complex needs. We are looking for personal assistants who will be part of a team working varied hours with two users. The users have intellectual disabilities and challenging behavior. In this challenging behavior, you may encounter serious self-harm behavior daily.

You will work according to clear structures, provide support in communication, and use methods to prevent and handle challenging behavior. The work involves giving individually adapted support in everyday life together with your employer and colleagues. This can range from personal care to activities based on the user's interests, as well as handling acute emotional outbursts with low-affective handling and a secure presence.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has extensive experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and challenging behavior
  • Has previous experience with self-harm behavior and/or emotional issues
  • Has experience providing support in communication, e.g., AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
  • Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

Experience with clarifying pedagogy, AAC, and low-affective handling. Experience with LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and work with adults with extensive support needs. Knowledge of autism, developmental disabilities, and psychiatric comorbidities.

Calm and clear in your handling. Responsible and receptive. Creative in finding solutions and planning meaningful activities within secure frameworks. You are patient, enduring, and stress-resistant. In addition, you have a good ability to collaborate in teams and follow up on worked routines and methods.

The Employment – we offer several fixed-term positions with work on an as-needed basis, with varying working hours and varying scope. We see that you are flexible and can work varying hours such as day, evening, weekend, night. This can lead to a permanent schedule and a permanent position.
