As a medical secretary at the orthopedic clinic, you will work in a well-functioning team where different professions collaborate. The clinic offers varied work in a complex operation with opportunities for rotation between the outpatient clinic and the ward.

Work on the ward includes dictation, coding, planning and booking patient visits, handling admissions and discharges, and other administrative tasks. At the outpatient clinic, the work is largely focused on dictation, booking visits to various clinics, working with 1177, and other administrative handling of patients and medical records.

We work with an open, engaged, and knowledgeable approach to provide the best care with the patient at the center. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop, actively contribute to operational development, work with competent colleagues, and take responsibility for achieving good results. Region Kalmar County organizes its own secretary days.

Working hours: Monday–Thursday 07:30–16:30, Fridays 07:30–14:00.

About you

We are looking for you who are trained as a medical secretary or healthcare administrator with good knowledge of Swedish. Previous experience as a medical secretary in healthcare and DRG training are meritorious. The role requires flexibility, the ability to switch between independent work and group work, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Experience with the medical record system Cosmic is an advantage. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Selection and appointment are made on an ongoing basis, so do not wait with your application. This is a parental leave replacement position lasting from 2026-10-01 to 2027-06-30.

The orthopedic clinic at Kalmar County Hospital is the county's largest orthopedic clinic. Approximately 100 employees work here, consisting of doctors, nurses, medical secretaries, assistant nurses, and plaster technicians. We collaborate daily with physiotherapists and occupational therapists. The clinic operates 24/7 with all types of orthopedic injuries and is an educational department with a strong focus on supervising students (nurses, assistant nurses, medical secretaries, and doctors).

Kalmar County Hospital is one of three hospitals in the county and serves as an emergency hospital with specialist care, maternity care, and neonatal care.
