We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation services, remand prisons, and client transport.

Job Description

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service, Region East, consists of operational areas in Östergötland, Småland, and Gotland. We are immediately seeking an administrator for the probation service in Västervik. This is a temporary position lasting approximately 3–4 months, with a possibility of extension. The probation service has a workplace with approximately 20 employees. The role involves providing service to both staff and clients, which places high demands on your personal qualities regarding structure, planning, flexibility, and staffing.

As an administrator, you will work with several client administrative systems. Your tasks will include standard office work such as procurement coordination, mail handling, contract monitoring, archives, case management, some financial administration, and inventory. As an administrator at the Probation Service, you will also staff the reception and manage the intake of visitors.

Qualifications

The role of administrator is a service function, which requires you to be service-oriented and proactive. You are calm and confident in yourself and can handle stressful situations well. Furthermore, you have the ability to plan, structure, and prioritize work effectively. We also look for candidates who are flexible and thus easily adapt to changing circumstances and find solutions in emerging situations. Your ability to collaborate is excellent, and you have an easy time building relationships. We assume that you have a well-developed administrative skill set.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A minimum of upper secondary education (high school diploma).
• Several years of experience in administration.
• Good IT skills.
• Good proficiency and ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.

The following are also meritorious:

• Experience in administrative work from the public sector.
• Individual courses at university/college that the employer deems relevant for the position.
• Experience working in a support function or service function.
