Joint role for primary and upper secondary school

Do you want to strengthen the quality in a school dedicated to the students who need it most? As a Quality Developer, you work directly with our schools and principals, focusing on developing educational quality and ensuring systematic work in accordance with regulatory documents. This role is shared across our primary and upper secondary schools, where you contribute with analysis, follow-up, and direction on quality matters. Part of the work takes place on-site at our operations across the country – travel (sometimes with overnight stays) is therefore a central part of the position.

Your assignment

As a Quality Developer, you drive and develop Magelungen's systematic quality work (SQW) at both the sponsor and unit levels. You serve as a supportive and process-leading function that provides school managers, principals, and the sponsor with data for analysis, prioritization, and development – relieving school managers of some of the quality work. The assignment covers both primary and upper secondary school and includes, among other things:

Systematic quality work and equity

  • continues to develop the SQW model, control model, and annual calendar together with school managers and other leadership,
  • coordinates, follows up on, and develops systematic quality work in both primary and upper secondary school,
  • strengthens equity within and between our schools,
  • develops and implements common processes, routines, templates, and guidelines.

Analysis, follow-up, and reporting

  • conducts follow-ups, quality measurements, and analyses that lead to concrete improvement measures,
  • analyzes results, identifies patterns, and produces quality reports and decision support materials for principals, school managers, and the sponsor,
  • develops metrics and indicators that capture students' actual progression – even where national statistics fall short,
  • provides operational support to school managers, principals, and units in planning, follow-up, and analysis,
  • is responsible for reporting to authorities (e.g., SCB) as well as applications and requisitions to the Swedish National Agency for Education and SPSM.

Investigations, supervision, and authority contacts

  • develops structure and working methods for investigations together with school managers and leadership,
  • supports and coordinates matters related to the Swedish Schools Inspectorate and other authority contacts,
  • supports the handling, follow-up, and analysis of complaint cases,
  • coordinates and ensures quality in applications and follow-up of state grants.

Development, support, and knowledge dissemination

  • leads or coordinates development projects together with representatives from the units,
  • holds regular quality dialogues with principals and leads workshops and training that develop analysis work at the unit level,
  • plans and conducts internal training initiatives within the scope of the assignment,
  • works for education based on scientific grounds and proven experience, in close collaboration with research and development at Akademi Magelungen,
  • establishes, develops, and maintains common digital support structures.

The role involves moving from analysis to action – you are a support in both direction and implementation, building the structure that underpins the professional judgment of principals and teachers.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a relevant higher education degree and documented experience in systematic quality work in schools – both at the school level and broadly at the sponsor level. You have good knowledge of the school's regulatory documents and solid knowledge of relevant laws and regulations – particularly the Education Act's requirements for systematic quality work – and are confident in applying them in practice. You have strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, and are familiar with digital tools for data handling, calculation, and visualization.

To succeed in this role, you need to be:

  • independent and proactive,
  • structured and analytical, with the ability to see both the big picture and details,
  • confident in dialogue with principals and school leadership,
  • pedagogical in your communication and ability to create understanding,
  • supportive and developmental in your attitude – you build trust rather than control,
  • collaborative – you create participation and work together with the units,
  • secure in your integrity and have the courage to stand by objective assessments and highlight deficiencies and uncomfortable analyses,
  • convincing – you gain traction for analyses, priorities, and improvement proposals,
  • comfortable with a mobile job where travel and overnight stays are a natural part.

It is meritorious if you have experience with resource schools and students in extensive need of special support, goal- and quality management, systematic quality control, and project leadership, as well as lecturing, training, and supervision. Experience working in school leadership or in a sponsor role and linking interventions to research is also valued. Very good knowledge and experience in school health services is meritorious, and a principal's education is preferred.

Scope and location of the position

  • Supportive and process-leading function, subordinate to school managers and without formal personnel responsibility.
  • Full-time, permanent (six-month probationary period applies).
  • Start date by agreement.
  • Location: Magelungen's headquarters, Lumaparksvägen 7, Stockholm, with travel to our units across the country.
