About the Assignment

We are now looking for a Senior Accounting Economist to join Södertälje Municipality for an assignment within the finance function, focusing on consolidated financial statements and the development of the group accounting process. This assignment arises from an increased need for quality assurance, structure, and efficiency in the work with municipal group accounting, as well as the implementation of system support for handling consolidated financial statements.

In this role, you will act as a specialist and support to the finance function while actively contributing to the development of working methods, processes, and internal competence in the area. The assignment requires a consultant at a specialist level with the ability to work independently from day one.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Accounting Economist, you will work both operationally and advisory with the municipality's consolidated financial statements during interim and annual reporting. You will ensure that the accounting follows current regulations according to LKBR (Swedish Municipal Accounting Board) and RKR (Recommendations and General Comments from the Swedish National Audit Office), and contribute to creating a quality-assured and efficient process for group accounting.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare and support the work with consolidated financial statements during interim and annual reporting
• Ensure compliance with LKBR and RKR
• Quality-assure and structure the collection of data from companies and operations
• Develop and document routines, processes, and templates
• Contribute to improved analysis and development of notes to the financial statements
• Support the finance function in matters related to group accounting
• Participate in requirements specification, evaluation, and implementation of system support for consolidated financial statements
• Conduct testing and quality assurance of system solutions
• Contribute to implementation, documentation, and knowledge transfer
• Support change management and establishment of new working methods

Your Profile

To succeed in this assignment, we see that you are a confident and independent specialist with high competence in qualified accounting and group accounting. You work in a structured and meticulous manner, have an analytical approach, and are accustomed to taking personal responsibility for complex accounting issues.

You have good communication skills and can support and guide operations in a pedagogical manner. Furthermore, you thrive in development and change work and have the ability to translate regulations and requirements into practical and efficient working methods.

Qualifications

• Documented experience with consolidated financial statements and group accounting
• Several years of experience in qualified accounting work
• Very good knowledge of LKBR and RKR
• Experience working within municipal operations (mandatory requirement)
• Experience working in large financial systems
• Fluent proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written

Merits

Scope and Start Date

The assignment involves working with the municipality's consolidated financial statements during both interim and annual reporting, as well as the development of processes and system support in the area. The scope and focus may be adjusted continuously based on operational needs.

Start in August, with the assignment lasting approximately 5-6 months thereafter.
