Tungelsta School is looking for an Assistant Principal for grades F-5

Tungelsta School is located in the southern part of Haninge Municipality. We have Stockholm City at a convenient commuting distance, approximately 30 minutes by car or commuter train.

The schools in Haninge work purposefully and consciously to increase goal achievement among our students. Tungelsta School is a F-9 school with approximately 600 students and over 60 staff members. The school is organized into work teams from preschool class to grade 9. Each work team is led by a development leader who meets with the school leadership every other week for planning and follow-up of school development.

Our students are the adults of tomorrow, and together with them, we look toward their future. We work purposefully with the students' knowledge development throughout their entire school time. We want to educate our students to become knowledgeable and independent individuals who share the values present in society. Our students achieve good results. At the school, we work with an active student approach and cooperative methods to strengthen students' collaboration and communication. We also work cross-curricularly to create an understanding of how different subjects can create a whole.

Your Role

We are looking for someone with a good ability to lead development work, build trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians, and who puts the student at the center. Your role as a school leader is to increase student learning and contribute to their social development. You follow up on results and analyze them together with the teachers, leading the pedagogical work towards high goal achievement and high knowledge results. You are clear, receptive, and empathetic in your approach.

You have personnel responsibility and are economically responsible for your unit. You are responsible for students and parent contacts for the group you lead, and you are part of the school's student health team.

Qualifications

• Degree at university level.
• We would prefer that you have experience as a leader within the school.
• It is an advantage if you have completed the principal's education.
• You have a student focus.
• You have experience regarding digitalization.
• You must have very good communication skills in both speech and writing, as well as good coaching skills to drive development forward in the school.
• Knowledge of Skola24 is advantageous.

Personal Attributes

Regarding personal attributes, you need to have good collaboration skills and be empathetic, able to meet staff, students, and guardians in a good way.

As a leader, you need to be goal- and result-oriented, clear, and able to think strategically.

• You are a person who can motivate and inspire and get the staff group to work towards the same goal. Even though you have your areas of responsibility, you need to be able to see what is good for the whole school and look forward. You are a person who analyzes, reflects, follows up, makes visible, and gives feedback to the employee so that the quality of both the employee and the operations is raised and constantly developed. You also need to be creative and have the ability to see new solutions. You contribute with positive energy and are part of the school's development. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
