Brandbergsskolan is a grades F-9 school with an adapted primary school section. We are currently seeking a leisure-time pedagogue for our after-school care activities within the adapted primary school subject area.

Your role

As a leisure-time pedagogue in the adapted primary school section, you will be with the children both in the mornings and afternoons.

On school days, you have a student-support function and assist teaching teachers in conducting lessons. You provide physical, social, hygienic, and pedagogical support to students, with a particular emphasis on support within ADL (Activities of Daily Living).

This means you help students develop, among other things:

• Eating and drinking - breakfast, lunch, and snacks
• Dressing and undressing
• Personal hygiene - changing diapers
• Toilet visits and body care
• Communication

After school hours, as a leisure-time pedagogue, you are responsible for conducting lessons and activities at the after-school center. You plan, implement, and evaluate activities and lead other colleagues in the work at the after-school center. Your activities and lessons are based on the students' needs.

What we are looking for in you

We are looking for you who are educated as a leisure-time pedagogue or a teacher for after-school care, or have another education we consider equivalent. You must naturally be familiar with the curricula for both after-school care and adapted primary school. You have experience working in after-school care and with children/young people with intellectual disabilities, preferably within adapted primary school.

As a leisure-time pedagogue in the adapted primary school, you need to be structured and have knowledge of the operations' routines, as this is crucial for our students.

You also need to be solution-oriented as the operation will challenge you, and you need to be able to make decisions in the moment based on the student's best interest. This also presupposes that you have collaborative skills as you work with several different functions and roles.

You need to be flexible in your role as you will need to be led by teachers in school instruction as well as lead colleagues in the after-school center.

You have a stable physique as there are outdoor activities in all weather conditions and you will need to provide physical support to students.

You need to be able to express yourself academically well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as the work involves contact with guardians as well as a fair amount of documentation.
