Vederslöv School is a charming F-6 school (grades 1-6) with just over 170 students, located only a 20-minute commute from Växjö. The school is situated in a quiet area with a fantastic location near nature, forests, meadows, and water. The school has a small sports hall and a wonderful schoolyard that invites play, games, and creativity.
We work to maintain the child's desire to learn and give students opportunities for influence. Through collaboration between school and after-school care, we aim to offer students a fun, meaningful, joyful, and secure environment.
We are looking for two dedicated and competent student assistants with years of experience with various Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD) diagnoses, ready to become a valuable part of our team. This position focuses on creating a safe and supportive environment for a student during school days and after-school hours. The roles consist of a permanent position with 100% hours and a fixed-term position with 90% hours.
At Vederslöv School, you have the opportunity to get to know all the children and students well, as well as your colleagues, which creates a safe, family-like, and inclusive atmosphere. All staff at the school are engaged and passionate about developing and refining the school's and after-school care's activities, and finding successful paths forward for our children's and students' goal achievement.
We primarily seek you with a Student Assistant education or equivalent. We believe you have good experience with various NDD diagnoses, as well as experience with ADHD issues, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), etc. Education in NDD and TEACCH is meritorious.
We are looking for you who are responsible and self-reliant, with the ability to act as a secure and trustworthy adult role model for our students.
You communicate well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. In this role, it is important that you can handle rapid changes and challenging situations in a calm and effective manner. You are humble and not afraid to step up where needed. Since you will collaborate closely with teachers, guardians, and other resources, good teamwork skills are required.
Furthermore, we look for someone who is passionate about supporting children in their development and well-being. Clarity and open communication are prerequisites for creating a trusting collaborative climate. We believe that a positive attitude is contagious and creates a better work environment and a more positive learning environment for our students.
