Elmeskolan is a school for grades F-6 with approximately 180 students from the autumn term of 2026. We collaborate and share a building with the International School of Älmhult, located near the Hagabo residential area. We have three work teams at the school: the after-school center, grades F-3, and grades 4-6. We have organized a study center at the school for students who need close support and a calm environment, which includes the expertise and leadership of a special educator. Elmeskolan focuses on collegial development work through lead teachers who lead the work teams every week in language-developing approaches in all subjects. The social learning environment has also been a focus area, along with collegial observations.

Responsibilities

As a special educator, you work in close collaboration with another special educator and closely with the work teams and the principal. You are part of a team where special educators and teachers of Swedish as a second language work towards a shared understanding of students' needs for support. You are an important part of our student health team, supporting students at both group and individual levels, and you have contact with guardians based on your role as a special educator. With your competence, you also support educators and teachers in their work. At Elmeskolan, we believe in teamwork where every individual competence is utilized, while all staff must be able to be where they are needed most at any given moment, for the benefit of our students.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree and certification as a special educator, with a focus on language, reading, and writing development. Experience is meritorious. You can express yourself in correct Swedish, both orally and in writing. You work in a holistic manner with a high degree of flexibility. You are tolerant and able to see things from different perspectives. You can work both independently and in teams, and you have good self-confidence while showing a lack of pretension.
