RESPONSIBILITIES

Gemöskolan is looking for you who are a certified primary school teacher with a focus on the early school years. Your position will be in Year 1 together with two other teaching colleagues. However, it is important to understand that you may be assigned to different grade levels depending on the school's needs. At Gemöskolan, we work in a three-teacher model, meaning three teachers are responsible for two classes.

Approximately 240 students attend Gemöskolan, from preschool class to Year 6. The school is centrally located in Älmhult, within walking distance of most amenities. We work on the principle that all students should have access to an equal education. Since we have a socio-economically disadvantaged catchment area, you must be interested in other cultures and understand that the staff at Gemöskolan have a significant compensatory role. You must be solution-focused, and your view of students is crucial. You must believe that all students can reach their best potential, and you must also work to provide them with the conditions to get as far as possible. To do this, you need to be flexible and committed to working together with your colleagues to create an accessible learning environment for all students.

At Gemöskolan, we are all colleagues, and we always work for the benefit of the students. We work language-developingly in all subjects, so experience in this area is a plus. Our focus is to offer students a more accessible work environment throughout the entire school day, including during leisure time and recess.

We would appreciate it if you had a broad subject competence, good collaboration skills, and a holistic view of the operations and its best interests. We assume that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both orally and in writing. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and your experience.
