Västra School is a school for grades 7–9 with approximately 540 students, centrally located in Falun. We are within walking distance to the theater, Dalarnas Museum, the City Library, and the World Heritage Site in Falun. Job Responsibilities

As a special needs educator at Västra School, you support students who need help with planning and structure in all school subjects and mentor the school's staff. As a special needs educator, you will have contact with guardians and external actors to plan good solutions for the school's students. You will be part of a team of special needs educators/special teachers as well as the school's student health team. You are expected to drive special pedagogical issues, conduct pedagogical investigations/assessments, and provide consultation and advice to educators and other school staff. You also provide guidance on the use of compensatory aids/alternative tools and convey pedagogical strategies.

Required for the role:

• You are educated as a special needs educator (specialpedagog).

Personal Qualities

As a person, you are confident in your role, have a strong solution focus, are flexible, and have the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and educators. You have good teamwork skills as well as the ability to handle conflicts well. Furthermore, you are good at documenting, planning, and you organize work efficiently with regard to all involved parties. You have an independent working style where you take own responsibility and initiative. We also see that you suggest adaptations and are involved in thinking about a good learning environment with the aim of developing student health work and students' goal achievement.

Desirable Qualifications

• Relevant work experience, e.g., as a special needs educator or similar experience.
• A few years of experience with grades 7–9.
• You are well acquainted with current regulatory documents.
• Good digital competence.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with access as agreed.
