We are now looking for a math/natural science teacher for our team at CSU, the Central Special Education Group. Are you passionate about the learning and development of children and young people? Do you feel it would be appealing to be part of a smaller team working with children and adolescents who have difficulties succeeding and developing in school? Then this might be the job for you!
In August 2025, the Child and Education Sector in Säter Municipality started a small Central Special Education Group for children in grades 4-9 located at Dahlander's Knowledge Centre. A team of three employees, two teachers and one coordinator, started the operation together under the leadership of the managers for the central Student Health Service. The maximum number of students at CSU is set to 15 students, and currently, 6 students have had their education in this group.
Interviews for this position will take place continuously to try to have all staff in place by the start of school on August 10, 2026. Therefore, do not wait with your application! Interviews will take place in two steps, where in step two you will be asked to answer a fictional case.
The work as a teacher in the central education group involves planning and conducting education for students in grades 4-9. You base your work on the course and curriculum in the subjects you are responsible for. Assessment of students' knowledge is documented in our learning platform, Schoolsoft. Since the work also involves interventions related to student health, documentation also takes place in the municipality's child and student health journal system, Prorenata.
Based on the students' needs and prerequisites, you as a teacher will conduct both individual and group instruction.
Collaboration will take place continuously with the student's regular school, as the principal still has overall responsibility for the students even though they attend CSU. Designated staff from CSU follow up on action plans and reintegration plans together with the principal and staff from the student's regular school. Overall coordination of the staff group at CSU is delegated to the coordinator position. Collaboration with external actors such as social services and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) often occurs regarding the students who are placed at CSU. Therefore, it is required that you are proactive and can easily create new relationships and networks to collaborate for the child's best interest.
