Dalarna University is looking for a University Lecturer in Business Administration to join one of Sweden's most modern campuses in central Borlänge. We offer education in Business Administration at the bachelor's and advanced levels, both on campus and online. At the same time, we are developing our courses and strengthening our research environment. We conduct research in areas such as sustainable business, corporate development and CSR, leadership, entrepreneurship, marketing, governance and organization, as well as the circular economy.

Your working day as a University Lecturer

Dalarna University offers a varied employment where, within Business Administration, you will have the opportunity to contribute to teaching, quality assurance, and course development, as well as to the development of the research environment and collaboration with external actors.

Here, you will largely have the freedom to steer your own work, and we value initiative, collaboration, and a development-oriented mindset – both within the subject and across disciplinary boundaries.

The position involves teaching, research, and collaboration. Research constitutes approximately 20% of the role. Duties include, for example:

• contributing to the development of research and actively seeking external research funding
• teaching and examination at the undergraduate and advanced levels on campus and online
• supervision and examination of degree theses
• course responsibility and course development
• participation in quality and development work within education

According to the Higher Education Ordinance and Dalarna University's employment regulations, eligibility for appointment as a University Lecturer requires demonstrated pedagogical competence as well as a doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence in a relevant subject area.

In the appointment process, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. You have strong analytical skills, see the bigger picture, and can communicate effectively with people from different professional, cultural, and educational backgrounds.

The role involves many contact points with students, colleagues, and external actors, which requires strong collaboration skills. Since the work is largely independent, you must also be responsible, structured, and proactive.

For this role, we also value the ability to contribute to the development of educational environments, research collaboration, and collegial work. As a University Lecturer, you are expected to be able to teach in Swedish.

Requirements for this position:

• a doctoral degree in Business Administration or another related field
• pedagogical competence
• experience in teaching at the undergraduate or advanced level
• strong ability to use digital tools as support in teaching
• strong ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish and English

Qualifications that are meritorious:

• active research, documented through scientific publications and participation in research projects
• experience in teaching accounting and economic management
• experience in research and development work, as well as in applying for and obtaining research funds
• experience in collaboration with business, the public sector, or civil society
• experience in management or development roles within academia or other operations
• higher education pedagogical education. Upon employment, it is important to complete the HEPE course within two years
• additional pedagogical education or experience in development work within teaching.

Evaluation Criteria

The University will conduct a qualitative overall assessment in this recruitment to determine which applicant has the best prerequisites for fulfilling the duties of the position.

Equal care will be given to the assessment of pedagogical competence as to scientific competence, according to Chapter 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. A pedagogical test will likely be applied. For permanent appointments of University Lecturers, an expert assessment of the applicants' eligibility and competence will take place.
