The Faculty Office at Örebro University is seeking a full-time investigator. The position is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

About Us

Örebro University is one of Sweden's most dynamic universities, with approximately 17,000 students and 1,600 employees. We offer a wide range of attractive professional programs, including medicine, psychology, law, and civil engineering. Örebro University has strong research strengths in areas such as medicine, psychology, environmental science, and computer science.

Approximately 25 staff members at the Faculty Office provide support to the university management, faculties, departments, and sections. The Faculty Office is responsible for the investigation and preparation of cases within the areas of education and research, quality assurance, quality development, and follow-up within the responsibilities of the faculties and faculty boards. The division is also responsible for university-wide work on pedagogical development as well as gender equality, equity, and sustainability issues.

Responsibilities

As an investigator with a focus on faculty coordination, you will coordinate the work around one of the university's faculties. You will provide close, qualified support to the Dean, who is the head of the faculty and chair of the faculty board. You will provide support in both ongoing operations and long-term strategic planning and follow-up.

You will collaborate with other investigators at the office and have overall responsibility for coordinating the work of the faculty board. You will work on investigating and handling cases concerning, for example, the distribution of funds and steering documents for the faculty, preparing decision-making materials for both board-specific and cross-board issues, monitoring the higher education sector generally, and the faculty board's area of responsibility specifically. You will maintain contact with departments and sections for anchoring, information, and dialogue.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • An academic degree of at least bachelor's level (180 ECTS credits)
  • At least two years of experience in qualified case handling and investigation work within public sector operations
  • Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing, both in Swedish and English.

Personal qualities are highly valued. You should:

  • be analytical and have good problem-solving skills
  • have good collaboration skills
  • be proactive and have good initiative-taking ability
  • have a good ability to see the big picture of the operations
  • be curious and interested in learning new things, while also being willing to share your competence and experience with others.

The following qualifications are meritorious:

  • An academic degree at doctoral level, or other acquired knowledge about the conditions for scientific knowledge production and quality assurance
  • Good knowledge within the administrative area
  • Experience in qualified case handling and investigation work within the higher education sector.

Information

The position is a fixed-term contract for 12 months. The start date is 2026-10-01 or as soon as possible. Örebro University applies individual salary setting.
