The Department of Data and Electrical Engineering offers education in data technology, electronics, electrical engineering, and sound production. Research at the department is conducted at the research centre Sensible Things that Communicate (www.miun.se/stc) and focuses on sensor-based systems and services for use in the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence.
Responsibilities
As a teaching assistant, you will have the opportunity to enhance your qualifications and deepen your skills in data technology, teaching, and leadership. This assignment involves general supervision within data technology at "Datastugan" (The Data Cabin). Datastugan provides support for students who find a particular course particularly challenging, while also fostering a sense of community among data technology students by offering a space to study together. Datastugan is currently located on campus on Thursdays between 15:00 and 18:00.
Qualifications
Those to be employed as a teaching assistant must meet the requirements specified in Mittuniversitetet's employment regulations.
To be eligible for employment as a teaching assistant, you must be admitted to a first-cycle or second-cycle programme. Additionally, you must have completed at least 60 credits in data technology. You must have good oral and written skills in Swedish and English. You are accustomed to studying in groups and planning your studies well.
Selection Criteria
The selection criteria applied are your academic merits, experience, and suitability in relation to the courses to be supervised. Previous experience as a mentor, teacher, coach, or leader is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you speak and write one (or more) of the following languages: Arabic, Kurdish, Persian, Somali, or Tigrinya.
You should have good teamwork skills while also being able to take independent responsibility.
Processing
The processing of the employment follows the forms specified in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance and proceeds in accordance with Mittuniversitetet's employment regulations.
Employment and Start Date
The employment covers one or more positions at 5-10% of full-time during the whole or part of the period. Start date 2026-09-01 or according to agreement, but latest by 2027-05-31.
The employment may be renewed in accordance with Chapter 5, Section 12 of the Higher Education Ordinance (1993:100).
