Bräckegymnasiet provides education for students who wish to work in the construction sector and is today one of Sweden's largest construction vocational schools. We offer the national Construction and Facility Management programme with twelve different vocational specializations. Students who have chosen the specialization towards Building Engineering or Architecture can apply directly to technical universities after their vocational graduation or enter the workforce with an apprenticeship book. For students who are not eligible for a national programme, we offer education within the Introduction Programme. All our education is conducted in close collaboration with the industry.

With us, you will find a school that constantly combines theory and practice. Our main idea is that we build professional pride, both for students and staff. Our overarching goal as employees is that our students succeed in their studies and obtain a vocational diploma, which naturally places demands on us as school staff. We apply an inclusive working method where our students should be active participants in their learning, which we consider a prerequisite for their success. Our school has approximately 390 students, over 35 teachers, and a total of around 50 employees.

We are located at Lindholmen in bright, nice premises with proximity to everything. There is also a library on the premises.

Job Responsibilities

Are you our new teacher in Groundworks? We are looking for a driven educator for Bräckegymnasiet who is passionate about meeting young people on their way to a vocational diploma in Groundworks. Here, you will become a key person in a team that works without hierarchy to ensure every student reaches their full potential. You are a secure leader who motivates, finds creative solutions, and has the ability to see the individual's unique needs.

About the position. You teach Groundworks and are part of a work team where you jointly develop the teaching so that our students reach their goals. Mentoring is included in the position.

Who are you? You are structured, clear, and enjoy being a present adult throughout the student's entire school day. A prerequisite for thriving is also that you participate actively and want to contribute to your work team, and you appreciate good cooperation with your colleagues, students, and other staff at the upper secondary school. Together with your work team, you plan and develop the teaching so that our students are given the opportunity to become good citizens and craftsmen.

We coach each other and value your ability to contribute to a positive and solution-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

You are a certified teacher in Groundworks and have experience working with upper secondary level youth. You need to have a desire to work with students who face school challenges and to work with the student's entire school day.

You possess good pedagogical digital competence, i.e., you use digital tools for planning, teaching, and feedback.

Your professional experience gives you insight into and understanding of the construction industry's conditions and challenges, and therefore you have a vocational certificate in Groundworks. You also have machine knowledge for wheel loaders and/or excavators with corresponding operator certificates or driver licenses.

Teaching certification and eligibility are desirable, but not a requirement.

We prioritize your professional knowledge and personal qualities higher than formal teaching eligibility. If you are not a certified teacher, we can offer a fixed-term position while you study to become a teacher. However, for a permanent position, a teaching education with teaching certification is required.

In your meeting with the student, you are a sensitive communicator. You have good cooperation skills and share ideas and experiences. Your openness to change is a prerequisite for conducting quality teaching with close industry connection.

You have an interest and experience in teamwork with joint work around student groups and thrive when you get to collaborate with colleagues. You are interested in school development and want to develop good quality in teaching and assessment.

As a person, you have the ability to inspire and engage within your professional knowledge, and you have an easy time reaching out with your message. You are structured, goal-oriented, and open to trying new work forms and methods. We look forward to your application!

Conditions

For your interview, you need to bring a passport/national ID and possibly proof of residence permit if you have citizenship outside the EU/EEA. This is because as an employer, we need to verify your identity and ensure that you have the right to work in Sweden.

With reference to the laws regulating register control, the person offered this position must present an extract from the criminal record register before an employment contract can be drawn up. For positions where there are educational requirements, you who proceed in the recruitment process will be asked to submit documents proving your education, such as certification or degree certificates.
