About the Workplace

Ålsta Preschool and Primary School is located in the expanding Barkarbystaden area. At the beginning of the 2023/24 school year, we moved into our newly built preschool/school. The preschool has been in operation since 2013 and houses 195 children divided into five units. Each unit consists of a toddler section and an older children's section that collaborate closely. The school section started in autumn 2020 and is constantly expanding. The preschool and school share facilities and collaborate to ensure a consistent educational thread from 1-year-olds to students in the middle school grades. Our preschool/school features a kitchen with a dedicated chef. We have close leadership from the principal and assistant principal, who work together with the educators towards ambitious goals.

Job Description

We are looking for substitutes for part-time hourly employment.

As an hourly substitute at our preschool, you will be called upon to work when there is a need, supporting the regular staff during sickness and leave. Additionally, there may be a need for coverage during longer leave periods.

Your role involves meeting all children with respect for their individuality and providing each child with the conditions to develop trust and self-confidence. Everyone working within the preschool must show respect for the individual and contribute to creating a democratic climate. You will collaborate with families and build trusting relationships with both parents and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Experience in similar work.
• Flexible, proactive, and able to collaborate and interact with children, colleagues, and guardians in a responsive and smooth manner.
• Communicates effectively and handles conflicts constructively.
• Adapts easily to changing circumstances and can quickly adjust your perspective and approach.
• Positive, responsible, and engaged.
• Calm and controlled in stressful situations, maintaining a realistic perspective and focusing on what matters.
• Personal suitability for the substitute role is highly valued.

Merits: Educated and experienced childcare worker. Experience working with children with NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) diagnoses.

Employment Terms

Employment Type: Fixed-term employment (hourly substitute).

Duration: 3–6 months, ending: 2026-12-31.
