I am a 27-year-old man with cerebral palsy (CP) looking for personal assistants to maximize life together with me! I need help with everything. I communicate using an eye-controlled computer, and I want you to enjoy talking to me through it. Therefore, you must be able to speak and understand Swedish very well.

I am primarily looking for you who can jump in for hours around the clock – day, evening, weekend, and awake night. There is, among other things, a position of approximately 50 percent covering day, evening, and weekend.

You should be able to work throughout the summer. In the future, there may be talk of a permanent position. You will work days and evenings according to a fixed rotating schedule. If interested, there is an opportunity for staffing responsibility and more hours.

My outlook on life is that "nothing is impossible" – thinking of solutions instead of locks. My interests include, among other things, Hammarby, football, bandy, and handball. Music is a big interest, especially playing bass, listening to music, and going to concerts. If you also play music, it's a plus, but not a requirement.

I like hanging out with friends. I am part of a running group where you as an assistant are my arms and legs and push my wheelchair forward. In winter, I ski my way. I swim several times a week at a swimming club where you are also my arms and legs!

I have received my own apartment in Råcksta and will live there with my personal assistants. My family means a lot to me, and I enjoy spending time with my older siblings and nieces/nephews.

About you (requirements and traits):
I am looking for you who are positive, secure, and happy in your role as a personal assistant! You are tidy, punctual, and a team player who has the ability to put my needs first. You should be receptive, able to work both in a team and independently, and interact with me and my network.

The work is flexible! This is not an 8-5 job; the work is where I am. Being punctual, able to plan and structure the work, as well as being physically strong and enjoying training and music, is a big plus.

As an assistant, you should focus on me and my life choices. It is important to me that you see me as the positive and happy guy I am behind my CP disability. Preferably, you are humble and think that the job as a personal assistant is a developing and rewarding work. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions. I am looking for both men and women. The most important thing is that you stand with both feet on the ground and are secure in yourself.

Staffing:
An extended (and compensated) staffing assignment is included in this position. This means that you must be reachable at times other than working hours in certain weeks, so that in situations where intervention is required, you can call in a substitute or jump in yourself to assist. This is Assistans i Balans' way of ensuring that our clients always have a familiar assistant by their side. The assignment is shared by all assistants who work according to a regular schedule.
