We are looking for a staff member for our day activity program in Hölö.

At Åbykulle, we are looking for a calm, secure, and clear-minded person with good ability to create structure, prevent conflicts, and handle challenging situations with a low-affective approach. You need to be patient, relationship-building, and able to maintain your calm even when others are upset or frustrated.

The role places high demands on the ability to motivate, inspire, and support participants in starting and completing activities. A large part of the assignment involves creating meaning, motivation, and participation in daily life. Therefore, you need to be resilient, creative, and able to adapt your support based on the day's mood and individual conditions without giving up when resistance arises.

It is important that you can work preventively by noticing early signs of stress or frustration and helping the participant understand, handle, and move forward in different situations before they escalate. You need to be able to create safety through clarity, consistency, and professional interaction.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Experience working with autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and problem behaviors is advantageous.

Especially advantageous is if you have an interest in music and creative activities.

The participant has a strong interest in music and dreams of becoming an artist. If you play an instrument, sing, produce music, or in other ways can use music as a motivating and relationship-building activity, we see this as a great asset. The ability to translate the individual's interests into meaningful activities is an important part of the assignment.

We are therefore looking for a person who combines calmness and stability with engagement, creativity, and a genuine desire to help others succeed and develop.

About the role

As a staff member in the day activity program, you will work closely with our main participants and support them in their daily activities. You will be involved in creating a safe and developmental environment where the participants receive the support and care they need to live a meaningful life. The role also involves some practical and creative tasks and contributing to the operation and development of the activity.

Main responsibilities:

• Support participants during their daily activities and be a present guide.
• Help with the operation of the day activity program and participate in planning and implementing the activity's events.
• Participate in morning meetings and weekly wrap-ups.
• Contribute to creating a positive and developmental environment for the participants.

Qualifications:

• Education within care, social work, pedagogy, or another relevant field.
• Previous experience working in LSS housing, day activity programs, or with people with functional variations.
• Category B driver's license (manual transmission).
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
• A flexible, responsible, and secure approach in your professional role.

Advantageous knowledge and experiences:

• Musical skills and instrument proficiency.
• Craftsmanship skills and interest in practical activities.
• Experience working outdoors.
• Chainsaw and brush cutter licenses.
• Ability to tow trailers.
• Knowledge of clarifying pedagogy, low-affective interaction, and other adapted methodologies.
• Experience working with challenging behaviors and communication support such as AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
• Interest in creating an active and stimulating daily life for the participants.
