The unit's mandate covers method development, education, knowledge support, and follow-up within child health services and maternal health services. The mandate also includes lifestyle work throughout the entire healthcare sector, as well as health promotion and preventive measures from a broader public health perspective. The operations are rooted in and collaborate with a wide range of activities within Region Skåne, the municipalities of Scania, authorities, universities, and civil society. The purpose is to create care that is accessible, coordinated, and sustainable, contributing to better health for more people.

Job Description

As a manager leading employees, you steer your operations in the expected direction towards the organization's goals. Together with your employees, you develop the operations through effective working methods with high quality and follow up continuously for learning and further development. Your employees' engagement is crucial for success in your mission, and you value coaching, giving feedback, evaluating performance, promoting collaboration, and creating a good work climate. You have employer and management responsibility covering employees, operations, and economy.

As a unit manager, you have overall responsibility for the unit's mandate and you lead together with four team leaders. Currently, there are 24 employees at the unit, and an equally large group is loaned in to varying degrees depending on current assignments and the specific competence needed.

Your task is to maintain the strategic direction, formulate clear goals, and provide the operations with the prerequisites to deliver with high quality, efficiency, and long-term sustainability. You drive development, improvement work, and follow-up while promoting a culture characterized by participation and innovation. You are also responsible for sustainable competence supply, create prerequisites for research and education, and support employees in their development. Knowledge management and evidence-based methods are fundamental to the work.

As a unit manager, you represent Region Skåne in regional and national contexts and contribute to the overall coordination in the department's and administration's development work. You are also responsible for ensuring the unit is run resource-efficiently and with a good work environment. Furthermore, you are part of the department's management group and report to the Development Director.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university or college education, preferably within healthcare or other education considered relevant for the assignment. Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have experience from similar operations or within any of the areas the unit works with, such as child health, maternal health, lifestyle, or public health. You have leadership experience, and it is meritorious if you have previously been a manager with responsibility for operations, employees, and budget. It is positive if you have competence in process management, education, and further training, as well as method development. If you have experience in handling cases for politicians and trade unions, it is meritorious. Additionally, you are accustomed to building and developing collaborations, preferably also at the national level.

To succeed in the assignment, you need to be a communicative and engaged leader. You are present in your leadership style and can drive development forward within the entire unit's area. Furthermore, you are skilled at navigating complex contexts with flexibility and a accommodating attitude. Your analytical ability allows you to translate strategic objectives into operational management and to convey overall direction and goals. You create and maintain good collaborations both within the operations and between operations and actors in the external environment. You make decisions from a holistic perspective and work continuously to develop and improve the operations. You advocate for a good work environment and see dialogue and participation as prerequisites for successful results.

The Administration of Close Care and Health has existed since January 1, 2025. The administration is responsible for grant-funded care activities within close care. This includes, among other things, mobile teams and specialized palliative care, reception activities within close care, emergency care within close care, 1177 by phone, and certain region-wide functions. Additionally, the administration is responsible for the development and follow-up of the transition to close care in Region Skåne. The number of employees is estimated to be around 1,000.
