About the Job
Tellusskolan THEA in Bromma is located a short walk from the tram station in Johannesfred. THEA Bromma is a small school with big ambitions. We use rhetoric as our profile – a working method that strengthens students' communicative skills, self-confidence, and language development in all subjects.
At the school, dedicated and experienced teachers work together to drive development work focused on collegial learning. We have low staff turnover and high job satisfaction. The school has approximately 150 students, with two classes per grade, and shows good results in both grades and national tests.
The employer is Tellusskolan II AB, which runs six schools in Enköping, Linköping, and Stockholm. We are largely a teacher-driven organization where your competence and engagement are crucial for the school's continued development.
About the Position
We are now looking for a certified teacher in Swedish for a permanent position involving teaching in Swedish, rhetoric, and home and consumer studies.
The position primarily consists of teaching Swedish and rhetoric in grades 7–9. The role also includes teaching home and consumer studies and working in the school's studio one day a week, where you, together with colleagues, support students who need extra assistance, structure, and adjustments during the school day.
Teaching in Swedish is a central part of the school's work, and we place great emphasis on varied and developmental teaching that strengthens students' reading, writing, language comprehension, and communicative skills.
Rhetoric is an important part of our profile. For us, rhetoric involves both linguistic development and personal development. Through rhetoric, students practice expressing themselves, listening actively, arguing, speaking in front of others, and developing their self-confidence. Therefore, a desire to develop your teaching in rhetoric is an important part of the position. A university degree or experience in teaching rhetoric is advantageous.
In home and consumer studies, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching. We place great emphasis on teaching that combines practical moments with theoretical understanding and gives students knowledge for an independent and sustainable life.
Work in the Studio
A part of the position is located in the school's studio, where students with a need for special support, extra adjustments, or a calmer learning environment receive support in their schoolwork.
The role includes:
- supporting students in their knowledge development
- contributing with structure, clarity, and study peace
- collaborating with teaching teachers, special needs teachers, and student health services
- working relationally and preventively with students in need of support
We see this as an important part of the school's work to create accessible learning environments and give more students the opportunity to succeed.
At our school, the relationship with students is central. You are therefore both a subject teacher and, together with a colleague, a mentor for a class. The mentoring role involves following students' knowledge and social development in close collaboration with guardians and colleagues.
You are part of a work team where you work together for a safe learning environment with good study peace. An important part of the role is also to contribute to the school's systematic quality work, participate in collegial learning, and observe colleagues.
We are looking for someone who
- has a teaching license and qualification in Swedish
- has qualification in home and consumer studies or experience teaching the subject
- has high ambitions in your teaching role and clear leadership in the classroom
- is confident in working with both teaching and support measures for students
- wants to work in a smaller school where collaboration and shared responsibility are central
- sees relationships as a key to learning and motivation
- wants to actively contribute to the school's development and collegial learning
