Vocational Teacher in Childcare and Leisure - with a focus on validation and teaching

Are you an engaged and structured educator who is passionate about making adults' real competence visible? Are you looking for a varied assignment that combines validation with classroom teaching? Medlearn in Gothenburg is now looking for 1-2 vocational teachers in Childcare and Leisure.

About Medlearn in Gothenburg

Our vocational education in Childcare and Leisure offers three specializations: Childcare Assistant, Student Assistant, and Support Assistant. The education is conducted as a flexible education, which means a combination of physical lessons in the school's premises and independent work. During other times, students work on tasks and submissions in our digital learning platform, ItsLearning.

About the position and assignment

Your main task in the first phase is to work with validation. We have many working students who apply for the validation entrance, and your job will be to map and assess their previous experience. When the validation process is completed, students begin reading the remaining courses in the flexible program, which you will oversee.

Main responsibilities:

  • Carry out the entire validation process according to municipal procedures and assess and document students' real competence.
  • Plan, conduct, and lead classroom teaching, as well as provide individual guidance in our flexible learning environment after the validation is completed.
  • Be responsible for systematically ensuring quality, evaluating, and developing teaching based on steering documents.
  • Work with assessment, grading, and documentation based on students' individual study plans.

Your profile and competence

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

  • Teacher certification with eligibility in subjects within Childcare and Leisure.
  • Extensive experience in conducting, assessing, and documenting validation processes within the Childcare and Leisure field.
  • Good knowledge of the vocational field as well as the national courses within adult education (Komvux).
  • Good digital skills and experience working in modern learning platforms (experience with ItsLearning is highly meritorious).

Personal qualities

As a person, you are flexible, structured, and confident in your pedagogical role. You enjoy meeting students at different stages of their educational journey - from the experienced one who is validating to the one who needs more support in the classroom. Since the role involves a lot of contact with both students, colleagues, and clients, you value good relationships and have excellent collaboration skills, while also being self-reliant.

Additional information and scope

We are looking for a total of 1-2 teachers and offer two different types of positions. Please indicate in your application which setup is most interesting for you:

  • Position 1: Probationary employment full-time (100%).
  • Position 2: Part-time initially, with good opportunities for increased working hours later on.

Start date: Early August (we need to have at least one teacher in place by August 1st).
