The Preschool and Primary School Administration is one of Varberg Municipality's largest departments, with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation—preschools, primary schools, and child and student health services—we are here for children and students. Together, we shape the future.
Trönninge School is a modern F–9 school (grades 1–9) located in one of Varberg's fastest-growing and most vibrant areas. Around 850 students and a dedicated team of educators meet here every day. Job Description
As a special needs teacher with us, you play a central role in creating an accessible learning environment where we together create the best possible conditions for learning. Through an inclusive approach, you provide students with the prerequisites to develop based on their own individual conditions. You are an important part of the school's student health team and work to create a sustainable work environment where both students and staff are given the opportunities to grow.
Main responsibilities:
- Plan, lead, and evaluate teaching based on regulatory documents and special pedagogical strategies.
- Work primarily in a promoting and preventive capacity together with students to strengthen their knowledge development and well-being.
- Supervise and support teachers in adapting teaching and the learning environment at the individual, group, and organizational levels.
- Collaborate closely with the principal, special needs educators, and other professionals within student health to develop the quality of teaching.
- Actively participate in the school's systematic quality work and contribute to a formative approach in daily pedagogical practice.
- Conduct pedagogical investigations prior to the assessment of special support needs.
Qualifications

You are skilled at building relationships and creating trusting contacts with both students and guardians. You have a good feel for the group, are flexible, and have a high ability to adapt methods based on students' different needs, special support requirements, and knowledge progression.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a licensed teacher with a special needs teacher education in Swedish.
- Has the ability to base your teaching on proven experience and scientific grounds with an exploratory approach.
- Shows skill in planning and following up on the operation systematically within given frameworks.
- Has the ability to identify and map students' needs and support measures.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience working in a student health team or specific competencies within language, writing, reading, or mathematics development.
Employment Terms
Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-09-01. Start date according to agreement.
