The Department of Preschools and Primary Schools is one of Varberg Municipality's largest departments, with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation – preschools, primary schools, and child and student health services – we are here for children and students. Together, we shape the future.

Söderlyckan Preschool is located in Sörse, with Påskbergsskogen as its nearest neighbor. The preschool consists of three units: Gläntan, Lyckan, and Ängen.

Job Description

As a preschool teacher with us, you have overall responsibility for ensuring that education and teaching are conducted according to the preschool curriculum. Main responsibilities:

• Lead the pedagogical work in the team and create a safe and stimulating environment where every child can develop based on their prerequisites.
• Design accessible learning environments, both indoors and outdoors, that challenge and inspire children through play.
• Document and analyze children's development and learning to make pedagogical processes visible and ensure the quality of education.
• Actively participate in work focused on the children and promote an inclusive approach where all children are seen and affirmed.
• Create professional relationships with guardians and collaborate regarding the child's development and the preschool's mission.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone driven by a desire to develop the preschool based on current research and proven experience. You combine pedagogical competence with warmth and have a genuine commitment to being present in children's daily lives. Through your professional approach, you build good relationships with children, colleagues, and guardians, seeing collaboration as a key to a good work environment.

We see that you have:

• Licensure as a preschool teacher.
• Strong grounding in the curriculum and the ability to translate its goals into daily pedagogical work.
• A genuine commitment to children's development and the ability to be present in their daily lives.
• A language-developing approach and good communication skills in speech and writing.
• Good ability for self-leadership and confidence in organizing your own work.

The following are considered meritorious:

• Experience with alternative communication such as PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) or visual supports.
