Södermalmsskolan is centrally located in Kristinehamn and has approximately 850 students from preschool class to grade 9. Facilities and the schoolyard are distributed across F-3, 4-6, and 7-9, where each stage has its naturally defined area with space for play and creativity.

The School Administration's area of responsibility covers activities for children from one year old through upper secondary education. The operations include open preschool, preschool, comprehensive school, adapted comprehensive school, after-school centers, upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, as well as cultural school and youth clubs. Job Responsibilities

This position focuses primarily on reading training with students who need basic training in reading and reading comprehension. You will follow students' progress using screening, measurement instruments, and analyze results with the help of teaching teachers and special education teachers. You are expected to teach students both individually and in groups and assist in strengthening students' motivation to develop their reading, writing, and language skills.

You will evaluate reading instruction for students based on needs and maintain a continuous dialogue with teaching teachers and special education teachers regarding students' reading development, particularly those at a basic level. Continuously documenting students' progress in their learning is also part of the role.

You will be part of a work team where you share experiences, competence, ideas, and joy in work. Collaboration with students, guardians, and colleagues is an important part of the assignment. Together with other educators in the work team, you take responsibility for developing the operations with the goal of giving every student the best possible conditions for development and learning.

The position may involve reading training with students at Lovskola.

This is a vacation position for 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Teacher certification (Lärarlegitimation)
• Qualification for teaching in grades 4-6 or alternatively grades 1-7 in Swedish/SVA
• Training in reading acquisition
• Previous experience in reading training and reading acquisition
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, as language is our primary tool.

We consider it an advantage if you have experience teaching Swedish/SVA at the lower secondary level as well as a special education degree with a focus on Swedish/SVA.

To succeed in this role, it is important that you take significant personal responsibility, have the ability to maintain good structure, and can focus on the right things in stressful situations. You collaborate easily and communicate in a calm and pedagogical manner in contact with students, guardians, and colleagues.

We also look for someone who is social, outgoing, and works to create motivation among students who have difficulty finding their own drive in school. Here, your creativity can become an important key. Having a good understanding of students' different prerequisites for learning is seen as a matter of course.
