Björkdungen Preschool is located in Väse, close to forests and nature. The preschool currently has five departments: three for children aged 1–3 years and two for children aged 3–5 years. Our education is based on the children's needs and aims for development and joyful learning in a safe and, as needed, adaptable environment. A constant focus for us is values-based and relationship-building work, where equal value, rights, and good treatment for everyone form the foundation.

We also place great emphasis on language development and communication. At our preschool, it should be safe, fun, and educational for all children. We also have an active work environment effort where we jointly ensure that days are as good as possible for everyone through clear daily schedules and routines. We collaborate and support each other across departments in both daily planned or spontaneous activities and teaching, as well as in more long-term and systematic work.

We are now looking for a substitute childcare worker (vikarierande barnskötare) from 2026-08-03 to 2026-12-31.

Responsibilities

As a childcare worker, you work together with preschool teachers based on current regulatory documents and implement and develop the pedagogical activities. You help plan and carry out activities that promote children's development and learning. You are responsible for providing children with a safe and secure environment at the preschool.

Your main tasks will include:

• helping children develop their social skills, such as cooperating, sharing, and resolving conflicts.
• participating in reflecting on and documenting children's development and learning, where you observe and note their progress and challenges.
• maintaining good contact with guardians.
• assisting with meals, rest, and hygiene.

You will be part of a work team consisting of a preschool teacher and a childcare worker.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a childcare worker through upper secondary or post-secondary education equivalent to at least 1300 credits. As a person, we see that you take responsibility and actively participate in creating a developmental, fun, and educational preschool. You have a good ability to see all children and take their individual conditions into account.

We are looking for you who are confident in yourself and act calmly and professionally when meeting with children, guardians, and colleagues, even in situations that require thoughtfulness and stability. You take responsibility for your tasks and contribute actively to the operations by seeing what needs to be done and taking initiative in daily work.

To fit the role, you adapt easily to changing conditions during the day and see opportunities in adjusting when the operations require it. You contribute to good collaboration by being receptive, communicating clearly, and working together with colleagues for the benefit of the children.

Interviews will be held during week 26.

The position will be filled if necessary decisions are made.
